I've been here almost a week. I've seen multiple doctors all whom have been amazing 1 I'm really sad doesn't take my insurance so I can see her after I leave. I've had the displeasure of some nasty nurses who hide for hours and don't care if all your machines are blaring for 45min or that u called them hours ago & the ER? They get a 0! They did nothing, no water, no pillow. No answers, no tests no plans for 2 days while I was in unimaginable pain and they got sick of helping me to the bathroom just unhook the IV so tried to get me to pee in bed. Oh and then they all sat around laughing about each patient very loudly. I can tell u in depth what the others next to me were there for and what each nurse thinks and it's wring. When I was finally brought up stairs the nurse made a comment as to wondering why. I hadn't been up here sooner since the room had been waiting and she sent the info down. The OB nurse Jen? Is my absolute favorite though!
Finally they earned my 5 stars My 96 year old mother was admitted due to a fall. The experience was excellent from the time she got into ER then moved to the third floor. She was in room 3614. I was able to stay with her day and night. Everyone treated her with dignity and respect, everyone was professional and kind to both of us. They payed attention to her needs. The room was perfectly kept clean one cleaning person that stood out was Veronica. She cleaned that room and took the time in leaving it spotless. We were actually surprised compared to other previous admissions. The last year was so horrible to the point a male nurse hurt her left shoulder. All because they didn’t pay attention that she already had a small rotator cuff tear. He grabbed her like a rag doll and according to her Orthopedic doctor the tear was worse and bigger. Ever since then she lost her range of motion. But again this time was amazing and I certainly hope all other units can follow the example of the amazing people that work on the third floor. Thank you to her doctor, nurses and everyone in every single shift. God bless you all for taking such great care of my mother.
Wife is currently having a C Section, we were scheduled for 8.30am in the morning it is currently 3 in the afternoon… they take beyond long. We came here early for nothing. Avoid this hospital at all cost. I will never come here again. If something goes wrong, I’m suing the hell out of this hospital. Beyond worst service. This hospital needs to be shut down.
If I could give less stars I would. On 2 separate occasions, I have had family members go in with different ailments and levels of care needed, and each time, a minimal level of care was provided. Case 1: My brother and his girlfriend went to the facility while she was 20 weeks pregnant w/ twins. She was high risk with sever preeclampsia. The twins needed to be delivered early, and everytime a doctor spoke to them, they were treated like they were uneducated and unable to understand the level of care that was needed for their children. They even released her after a week probably far earlier than she should have been and put unnecessary stress on her by disposing of her stored breast milk for her children. Case 2: My cousin went to the facility with debilitating stomach pain fearful that a ruptured appendix may be the issue. Not only did he have to wait through the pain for some time, but when the nurses finally got to him, they indicated that he needed to leave and see his primary care physician first and had to leave without being treated, examined, or diagnosed. Please advocate for yourself and your health because the medical professionals at this facility do not appear to care about providing even a standard level of care let alone a higher level of care. Hopefully it does not cost someone their life being lost to negligence.
Horrible hospital. Mother went to emergency room back in October 2022, complaining of chest pain, possible heart attack, not feeling good, and they made her sit in the waiting room for 48 hours before even being called. Then after being called to the back, another 12 hours before a doctor saw her. Diagnosed with Lung Cancer. Oncologist there is horrible and uncaring. Will talk about how his mother had brain cancer etc etc, but he doesn't care. My mom began to have bad issues in July 2023, went to hospital, then sent to nursing home. Once in nursing home, oncologist said his hands were tied and he couldn't do anything anymore, since he's not the doctor over looking her at the nursing home. My mother died Aug 26. The oncologist office was calling me Sept 22, saying the pharmacy is trying to get a hold of my mother why aren't we calling them back. Imagine getting a call from the office of the oncologist that is suppose to be helping your family member a month after they had died asking why we haven't called the pharmacy back?
Update, I am very disappointed in the appointment system and it's failure. I tried to get a follow up appointment with the surgeon that did my operation. The ENT service didn't answer and they never called me back. I had to remove my own stitches. Unacceptable.. Arrowhead Regional. I had two appointments the other day, one at 10am and another at 1:30pm. I arrived early about 9:15am and checked in. I don't mind waiting for awhile because they have excellent air conditioning and fast WiFi. Anyway I was in and out of the first appointment before my scheduled appointment time. So I went to the next appointment down stairs way early but I checked in anyway. I was in to see the doctor before I had a chance to sit down. They are friendly and efficient as can be at this hospital. I finished both appointments before 10:30am. I know this doesn't always happen but it's magic when it does. Just one more thing, the people in out patient surgery are excellent. Pre op and post op are the best people ever. They have a great sense of humor and take really great care of you. Thank you to Dr Roberts and everyone in the Operating room for the work you all put in. 20/10 just an excellent experience all around.
Bad communication from day 1, team of doctors could not concur with patient prognosis and each one came to the room and provided their two cents which was immediately challenged by the next doctor. Case manager made many mistakes and would not own them when called out. Patient was discharged, in home nurses scheduled but family was never notified beforehand. Discharged documents had no information about medication and in home care process. A total nightmare.
Woman’s health clinic had scheduled me for a procedure, when I go in for my appointment they informed me that they can’t see me because there’s was no authorization. I asked staff if they ever submitted a referral to either my insurance or to my primary treating physician, they seemed lost they don’t know what they’re doing. I asked why would you schedule before even having an authorization on file all they did was get upset since I said someone drop the ball here was it the doctor’s assistant by not sending the referral? They got nothing to say but just keep saying we can’t see you. Bad staff and doctors even I had already knew this I wanted to give them another chance but it went wrong.
There is always a lot going on in a hospital, if a patient is admitted its for a reason. The last thing a person experiencing pain and discomfort needs is receive irrelevant treatment from their nurse/care provider. Our mom was admitted for over a week here, for the most part all the nursing staff that cared for her was attentive to making sure her pain was under control even though some were more friendly than others. Even with that however the one thing most had in common was acceptable nursing bedside manners EXCEPT for one nurse named Agnus on the 4th floor unfortunately. We verbally complained to her charge nurse but we are unaware if anything was done about it. My mom got discharged home during this nurse's shift. The lack of proper patient education we received was very unacceptable, we felt all she wanted was to obtain a signature from the patient to complete the discharge. Nurse Agnus got noticeably annoyed/upset when we asked for proper demonstration on how to do wound care dressing changes at home, when we tried to repeat what we understood from what she was telling us, she rudely spoke over our voice and we had to pause, kindly ask for her to listen to us and request if we understood wrong to then clarify and correct us. After we signed the discharge paperwork she just walked out the room leaving us clueless on what was next, we waited several minutes but since she never came back we assumed that was all and used a wheelchair she left outside the room to wheel my mom out. It wasn't until we were reaching the elevator the charge nurse someone else ran towards us and said they are supposed to take us out to the entrance. It was here where we complained to her about the very unpleasant nursing care my mom received from nurse Agnus. On the other hand, when we talk about the doctors here, there is a specific doctor that cared for my mom while she was an inpatient that went above and beyond to help us as much as possible. Dr Keiderling provided so much support and guidance to us, he made sure we understood all test results, made constant rounds to continue personally monitoring my mom's condition. And even after my mom's discharge, he has been more helpful to us than even my mom's own primary care provider in the out patient setting. Dr Keiderling truly cares for his patients and does everything within his power to advocate for the best plan of care for his patients. If we were to rate this facility only based on his care, with no doubt, we would gladly rate it at a 5 start, however taking into account the huge area of improvement from bedside nursing care manners and also considering nurses interact with the patients a lot more than the doctors, we'd rate this place a 3. We hope this facility's administration views this feedback so it can be addressed and improved so future patients encounter a better bedside nursing experience ESPECIALLY upon discharging a patient home.
I am currently a patient here, shout out to 6 South, I'm moving to a skilled nursing facility tonight and am extremely sad. Staff is so kind and attentive. I will miss this place.
