We showed up with a group of 10 at open streets and the staff went over and beyond to put together a table for all of us. Avery was our server and was amazing. We all had different dishes and everyone was very happy with their meals. I highly recommend this place and would go back in a heartbeatFood: 5/5
Cozy setting in a historical building. Food was very good and reasonably priced. Just seemed to have hit the place when they were a bit understaffed as we kept having to ask other waitstaff to get our server. As we were in no particular hurry, we were not inconvenienced. Would recommend and would go again without hesitation.Food: 5/5
This is my third time eating here and I love it. I like how it's nice and cosy more intimate than going to the keg where it's loud and just way too busy. I only eat steak so their New York is awesome they cook it to the temperature I wanted and again the atmosphere the ambience is great there I highly recommend if you want something small cozy and intimate. And then you get to go for a beautiful walk along the waterfront there.
The restaurant itself was a lovely feel. The atmosphere was perfect. The wait staff were very nice. Our disappointment were our steaks. My husband and I ordered the 7 oz. Sirloin and we found they were very tough. They were cooked perfectly pink inside. It was just the quality of steak was not as good as it could have been. The chef did a great job on the entire meal and it is not his fault the quality of steak was not up to par. I never leave a bad review but perhaps this will help Artisan in finding a better quality beef.
It’s worth a drive to Amherstburg.Best dining experience in Essex County.Perfect place for a date night or anniversary. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was incredible. Highly recommend. It’s best to make a reservation since it is so popular.
The bartender/owner is very jolly and keeps a great mode on the tableFood: 5/5
Dined here last night with family and we were all very disappointed. I had a steak with goat cheese that was extremely salty. Couldn't finish it at all. My dad had the ribs that he said were very dry. You could literally hear his knife going through the meat when he was trying to cut in between each rib. My husband had a "leafless" salad with chicken that was very bland. When served it looked like a jelly mold with strips of chicken around it. He said it had absolutely no flavour at all. We had dessert only because it was birthday celebrations. Had the creme brulee. Again, no flavour and the top was not caramelized at all. The waitress would bring two dinners to our table then go serve another table. Bring two more then go serve another table. Very odd. She also wasn't clearing our dishes from the appetizers..There was 7 of us in our party and I don't think anyone had a good experience. We will not be returning. Huge waste of money.
We decided to have an impromptu dinner here and the food was delicious. We have to make reservations as it was peak hours during our visit. The temperature inside was mildly hot and the some of the area in the restaurant needs some dusting. Overall, its a nice little place to try out one in while if you are willing to pay the price.
Traveling back from our Christmas vacation in Niagara Falls to MI, my wife and I stopped in as "walk-in" guests. Despite not having reservations, we were granted seating. That said, we were not greeted by our server as other guests who had reservations: she did not introduce herself, she simply went straight into the beverage request with no welcome or offering of the nightly specials, and given warm - not iced water. We felt largely ignored except when the beverage and food was presented. While the food was good, and I want to feel like maybe our host and server were relatively young and ignorant, given the entire clientele being 100% white, and even the looks from some the patrons, overall we felt very unwelcome. Given the circumstances and significance of this town playing a VERY big part of the Underground Railroad for freed and fleeing slaves, the staff and some guests definitely gave the impression that me and my black wife were not welcome there. We won't be returning.
We stopped in for dinner. It wasn't too busy midweek and we were able to sit outside on the patio. They have done a very nice job on building bout the patio area. Hopefully, you can enjoy it while the weather is warm enough. The service was good. The food was excellent! We tried some of their signature items. The Lobster Thermidor, was very good. They are right down in the heart of Amherstburg and very close to Navy Yard Park. They continue to make this area of town better. There is plenty of parking in the area as well.
