Very disappointed with the Services of Bob at Artistic Upholstery. Initial meeting was very happy with Bob. He was very friendly and seemed professional. Told me it would take four weeks to reupholster a five piece sectional, three wing back chairs and four sets of outdoor furniture slip covers. I gave Bob a set of new outdoor cushions to use as sizing for the slip covers. I learned later that this was a big mistake. Since I was getting tile work on my floors, he said do not worry; I will keep furniture until floors are done. Gave him a deposit and he took everything. All went well until floors were done. Took two weeks for floors to be completed. Gave Bob a call and he told me wing back chairs were done and promptly returned those. Very happy with the end results! Paid him another portion of the payment. He told me the sectional would be ready in two weeks. A week later, Bob returned the slip covers. I was very excited because he had placed a set of the new slip covers on my cushions and the slip covers looked very nice. I did not see the original slip covers that were on my new cushions so when I asked Bob where are my original cushions' covers, he said "oh, we took them apart to use as a pattern for the slip covers". My mouth dropped! I said, why did you not tell me you would do that. I gave you the cushions to use for sizing. Had I known you were planning to destroy my original slip covers I would have told you these were new cushions (clearly anyone could see these were not used, faded or worn). He apologized and promised to replace the slip covers. Now I am not a happy camper. Two months after the initial pick up, I was still waiting on the sectional and nothing had been done to select fabric for the slip covers. He would not return my calls; and when he did gave me numerous excuses. Before the furniture was delivered, Bob place an unauthorized charge on my credit card for the balance!! I was furious! I called him; he did not answer; so left a voice mail telling him he had no right to charge my card before our transaction was complete! As I was calling the credit card company, he called and told me "oh, this is what I always do". I said that was never shared with me, nor is it written on our agreement! When he returned the furniture, the work was nice, then I immediately noticed that 2 cushions were not completely covered on both sides with the same fabric as asked. I wanted to be able to flip the cushions whenever needed. He apologized and said it would be done. I did not notice that the two recliners had very thin cushions on the leg rests. After he left, I sat in one recliner and immediately noticed the feel of wood on my legs. I look down and saw that almost no cushion was placed in the leg rest. I looked over and saw that the other recliner was the same! After waiting two months for my furniture, things were still not right!! I looked at pictures of my sectional before giving to Bob and saw that he had changed the designed of my furniture and omitted the pillow looking full, cushion section at the bottom of each piece and replaced with a thin, flat piece!! So in order for the recliners to match they too were flat with thin cushions. Here was a professional upholsterer that seemed to not know that a recliner needs extra cushions on the leg rest to be comfortable. I was speechless! When I finally talked with him, he seemed not to know why I was upset. He said he would fix everything. I was so disappointed with Bob and his quality of service that I was at the point that I wanted nothing more to do with him. I did permit him to fix the problems but I will never do business with him again. This is a WARNING, if you decide to work with Bob, get everything in writing, especially how payments are captured. His writing is not legible so make sure you re-write info clearly and have him sign it. Any updates or changes, put in writing and have him sign it. Do not do anything verbal with him!! If you do, he will make changes and swear you did not say what you said.

I have used Artistic Upholstery for several projects. I can't say enough about the quality of workmanship. Bob is a gem to work with, his tradesmen are experts and his pricing is reasonable. I recommend Artistic Upholstery at every opportunity.

bob did a beautiful job. sofa, love seat, 6 dinner chairs. love it.

Re-upholstered 6 kitchen chairs. Excellent job -- better than new. Bob's quality was much better than people we have used in the past. I would recommend him.
