Associated GC's of Maine does not support the right to repair. They support polluting your environment with hazardous ewaste by having electronics and equipment sent to landfill when they are replaced with new devices instead of being repaired and kept in service. They claim that non-dealer heavy machinery mechanics would ruin the progress in environmental control by breaking federal regulations to eliminate def systems no, right to repair does not allow for bypassing DEF systems. and that non dealer mechanics would not understand "complex" electronics and even go as far as to say OSHA wouldnt be able to investigate an accident if *gasp* a non dealer mechanic breathed wrong on a dozer. They finalize by saying the partnership between dealers and contractors is on the line. They flat out say that they're afraid of honest competition. If we had fair competition, you know you would have to be reasonable with your customers instead of knowing you're the "only game in town." ALLOW US CITIZENS TO REPAIR WHAT WE BUY! If I buy something, do I own it? Do I have a choice what I do with it? Or am I just licensed to use it under specific terms? The nonsense your lobbyist is spewing is disgusting.
Took a flagging certification course and really enjoyed it! The instructor was friendly yet thorough, funny but firm and they provided donuts & coffee!
