Was down in this area for a hockey game at the ice rink up the street so this was on our way home and we decided to just stop here for a quick bite to eat. I will see the place has plenty of parking as well lit up and it was clean inside. They have a very big menu for being a diner what’s a very good selection of food anywhere from appetizers all the way to seafood platters. I can only speak to the food that we ate the day we were there. I just ordered a cheeseburger and french fries I honestly forget the name of the cheeseburger that I ordered however it has something to him that was an old underneath the cheese on the top in the bottom of the burger. This was my own fault for not reading the menu good enough noticing that that was on there, easy enough though I just pulled it off and did not eat it. The burger was just very bland it tasted like one of the freezer store-bought kind, there really wasn’t any taste to it at all it was just eating to eat at that point. It was very disappointing because I really wanted a delicious cheeseburger that day. My daughter just ordered Sweet potato fries with ranch which she enjoyed. The prices were good and the wait staff was very friendly and attentive. I’m really not that big of a fan of diner style food and like I said this was just on my way home so I stopped in however I’m not so sure I will be back again. If you like diners and are in the area go ahead and give it a try.
Good food, fair pricing, and excellent wait staff. For those of you who follow me you’re aware that I always report on the restroom facilities. My belief is that a business who invests in clean and stocked restrooms is committed to A+ service all around. The Aston Diner is one of these fabulous places and kudos to the decorator who showcased these delightful stars and stripes.
The Aston diner has everything you could dream of cooked to perfection. Great service and delicious food. Perfect place to enjoy a quick meal with your loved ones. Kid-friendliness: Crayons for kids Parking: Huge parking lot in the rear Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible ramp
I ordered my benchmark breakfast of eggs, bacon and potatoes with peppers & onions. Everything came out perfectly. The toast was pre-buttered, a plus. It was a standard-sized square rather than a giant rectangle of bread, also a plus. I prefer slightly thinner, but that's a nit. You can order just 1 egg if you like. I added a side of fruit, which consisted of fresh cut melon, apple, strawberry and pineapple. The portion size was just right in between a small parfait and a big bowl. Parking was plentiful and convenient in this suburban location. The was a medium crowd on this July 4th mid-morning. I was greeted and seated immediately. My order was taken quickly and efficiently, and I was attended to regularly. Since this is a standalone building, the interior is more comfortable and inviting than the narrow strip mall cafes common in denser parts of Delco. There are booths at the windows, and tables in the middle. I was seated at a small both for 1 or 2 near the entrance. I did not notice any counter seating. You pay at the register and can request a tip to be added, avoiding the need to do math. There is no terminal to pay by phone.
Friendly staff and great food! Temperature was spot on. Fried calamari were tender. Perfectly seasoned. Only the chicken wings in the appetizer sampler were a bit oversalted. The gyro was good, as were the various hot sandwiches.
Wonderful place. We went on Sunday @ lunchtime. The place was fully packed. Nice food, generous quantity, plenty of food options, and great service, friendly staff. The house special chicken soup was delicious we ordered twice
The worst. Went there with my mom at 8:30 and was turned away by the owner, who just kept repeating, "We're closed. We're closed.". Google, their website, the sign on the door, and the big giant red digital lighted sign in the parking lot all said that they close at 10:00 p.m. It was the second time the exact same thing happened to me. Turned away at 8:25 or 8:30 by the same owner or manager. Both times, other people were eating their meals while he was turning us away. The most recent time, I was there with my handicapped mother and had spent 15 minutes getting her out of the car and into her wheelchair with her oxygen etc and pulled her through two sets of doors that I had to open myself before I was turned around by the owner. I showed him his own signs, and his own menu which all said 10:00 closing. I showed him my mother and the wheelchair and asked him for some mercy. He just turned away from me. It's a diner, so by the name, most people would assume that they have late hours or even 24 hour service. There is still a big lighted sign outside in the parking lot that says they are open 24 hours. No attempt to change or cover up any of the signs that they do not honor. If you don't want to stay open, then change your menu and your signs and your website and the information that you supply to Google, and stop tricking people who may have had a hard time getting there or getting in. PS. I volunteer at a nearby church and so I'm in the area pretty regularly. The only time I actually was served a meal in this place was at lunch time. I was told that that burgers were good so I ordered one. It was a frozen patty and it was pretty much tasteless. Three strikes and you are out. I won't ever be going back here unless I see a sign that says "under new ownership" ! Wheelchair accessibility: There are no steps, so you can roll a wheelchair up to the door, but the two sets of doors you have to go through are not automatic, so be prepared to struggle with holding the door and pulling the wheelchair at the same time.
This was the worst food I’ve ever had and will never go there again. These are just a few photos of the $78 meal, including the foreign object that was found along with a hair in the runny uncooked eggs Benedict. The meat loaf itself was dry black/brown in color & covered in a thick offensive gravy. The photo with the orange background is supposed to be garlic bread. The filet of flounder was thin, so over cooked, you couldn’t chew or cut it with a knife. The French toast had no butter/syrup, was soggy and most likely left over from the morning. Everything was tossed in the trashed.
A huge thank you to our server Barbara who was fabulous Saturday night. She made it so enjoyable. She was prompt, thorough and friendly. Best we ever had. The place was packed and we were in back corner and she made us feel welcome.
First time in this nice establishment. What a gem! Izzy our server was so polite and attentive. My wife and I both ordered the Jr Virginia ham that came with 2 sides a cup of soup and dessert. My wife had hot tea and I had a soda. A nice dining experience and a nice atmosphere. Out the door with tax 25.00. As Arnold Schwarzenegger once said "I'LL BE BACK!!!!"
