Amazing fine art!  From the Old Masters like Rembrandt, Picasso and Renoir to today’s masters such as Michael Cheney, Jaline Pol and Ruth Bloch.  Michael Cheney is Chicago’s 2018 Artist of the Year! As an art collector I'm aware one pays a premium when shopping at a gallery. It's a tradeoff one makes when there is interest in a specific piece. And usually galleries try to make the most of a new customer by providing excellent service. After all, someone who buys a piece now is likely to buy more.  It's confusing why Atlas doesn't feel the need to maintain relationships with customers. My dealings with them, specifically Liz Katsavelos, has been especially challenging.  A friend became interested in a Michael Cheney Giclee. I decided to surprise them by having it sent to their home. I negotiated the price down and gave Liz Katsavelos my credit card. I was assured the painting would ship promptly. After over a week without hearing back, I followed up by email and was assured it would ship the following week. So after another week I was frustrated by yet another delay.  After not being able to track anyone down evidently once you buy through a sales person, no one else in the gallery will speak to you, I let them know I wished to cancel my order and receive a refund. This prompted a response from Liz who assured me the painting would go out the following week, and because of the delays and inaccurate information given, she would be sure to include a free book of Michael Cheney's work; a $150 value she boasted.  I agreed, and this time did receive the giclee, but of course no book. This upset me; not because I was all that interested in the book, but because it was again a promise made and not fulfilled. So, I emailed Liz and asked her when we can expect the book. Her response was that the book is sold out, and she'll let me know if they get more in.  I doubt I'll hear from Liz again.  It's a shame when galleries don't value their customers. Instead of having another customer for them to promote new artists, they have me here writing a negative review because of constant delays, and dishonesty.  There are many wonderful galleries in Chicago, it's very much an art town. I would highly recommend many, but not Atlas Galleries. They simply don't value customers, so therefore cannot be trusted.

The best art gallery staff I've ever worked with.  Gene is by far my favorite.   And maybe the most diverse set of top artists I've seen.  Highly recommend.

Such a shame they are closing the store on Michigan Ave.... it was a place that I have been coming to for 20 years. It was a wonderful place to learn about art and wonderful place to buy art for myself, family and friends. I will miss it.
