What to remember is that these facilities are owned by a private hedge fund........profit is KING. My fiance's mother was a resident and we were all increasingly unhappy. When an incident or question arises, all senior management makes all efforts to avoid or be non-responsive to family. Any and all input from family is looked upon as intrusive and unwanted, no matter their obvious benefit or consideration. My fiance once received an email in error from management ( he was on the email chain) that was derogatory and defamatory - which I continue to urge him to take up further - either with corporate headquarters, social media, or the court system. Staff is fine and generally polite, but senior mgmt is solely focused on career path, salary increases, and bonuses. The most advertised/ballyhooed event of the entire year is the Employee Holiday party, where family members are consistently reminded throughout the year of "suggested" contributions. Managements design is to subtly encourage residents to remain in their rooms all day long, either napping or watching TV. The schedule is designed to get the residents out of their rooms for mealtimes and at most 1 activity of interest of each resident daily. The doctor on call is a " volume" physician unable to allocate more than a few moments to each patient per appointment. Given the age and mental acuity of the residents, Atria nursing does not even observe the appointments either as an expert nor to report back to the families. the nursing staff seems put upon and resentful. At all times, there is always the implication that since family cannot be their 24 hours a day, they'd better be judicious when they are onsite. My advice to for families to avoid assisted livings like Atria at all costs. if there is no home-based alternatives, please choose the smaller, family owned assisted living centers where it is more of a calling and a mission than a salary/promotion/benefits chase for higher level employees.

First, the place is way overpriced for they offer. Second, they increase the rent anywhere from 7.5% to 10% per year, which is outrageous since nothing ever improves. Third, the food is sub par, and for over $5K per month, that is just insane. Fourth, the wellness center at Atria did not follow up with my mother's prescription, and as a result, my mother did not get her needed antibiotics. Granted, Mercy Hospital contributed to this error as well. Five, despite the increase in rent, I see they spend no money on the automatic doors, which is needed for people using walkers, but they appear to spend quite a lot on landscaping and flowers.

My mom has lived at Atria Tanglewood for a year and a half. The place is beautiful! The staff are always willing to help with anything we need. The place is immaculately clean- yesterday I saw a staff member cleaning the baseboards in the hallways. There is a peace of mind I get knowing that my mom is in a place where everyone cares. And best yet, she has made some friends at the Atria, and has many opportunities to be social. Funny thing, we can never reach her by phone, she is hardly ever in her apartment because she is always OUT BEING SOCIAL! Thanks, Tanglewood Atria!

Atria-Tanglewood has been a great Blessing for our family!!! Since our Mom (84 yrs old) moved in last June, her quality of life has improved dramatically and we no longer have to worry that she is "on her own". One of the best aspects of our experience has been the wonderful staff at Atria-Tanglewood. From our first phone call, when we were in a "crisis", through the first visit and interview, the application process and moving in, the staff, especially the administrative staff, could not have been more attentive, helpful and understanding. During the last six-plus months, as our Mom has adjusted, the care, concern, and assistance of every member, at every level of the staff has been consistently wonderful. We could not have chosen a better place!! THANK YOU!!!

When we were looking for a new home for my grandmother there was a lot to take in to consideration. My grandma was a very social woman who enjoyed her many clubs and church groups. Her move meant she would have to leave the area she had lived in for well over forty years along with her church, bridge club, and daily lunches with friends. The first time I visited my grandmother at the Atria Tanglewood I could not get over how beautiful the facility was. The staff knew my father and Aunt by name as soon as they came in the door. I was very relieved to find out that my grandmother had found several new groups to participate in. As someone who adored their grandparent I honestly did not know if any place would be good enough for my wonderful grandmother and Atria Tanglewood proved me wrong. The staff was very accommodating and kind to her during her time of illness. It was a relief for my father to know that his mother was receiving the "best of the best" treatment from people who truly cared. As a grandchild it was great to see that my grandma was very happy in her new home and very safe. I was able to visit her regularly and she truly enjoyed her time there. I would recommend the Atria Tanglewood to anyone who is looking.
