I have loved the lake for camping and swimming for over 40 years and the last time I was there my 87 year old Mother was fishing and was gone for about 5 min. And a huge fish or a big turtle took the whole pole. We never found it or the culprit. But to expose a little secret I had a good size piece of hilshire farms smoked sausage as bait, I told my Mom (they will come from across the lake for that. And all I know is fish and turtles can't resist that smell and taste.

Love this place as it has a variety of outdoor activities. During the summer you can go to the beach or boat on the lake. Cabins are available for rent as well as semi-permanent and rental campgrounds. Be sure to check out the calendar before stopping by as they host a variety of events. The ability to have multiple places to enjoy the lake from is a huge plus so that you never really need to be in a crowd unless you want to be in one.

This used to be a wonderful place to Camp with your family and friends but apparently things have changed over the years. It now looks like a camper ghetto. It's crammed full of campers that seem permanently affixed there nowadays with their porches and such. It was November when we went so there were no other people to be found but had to be a thousand campers crammed into this park just sitting there. It was once an incredibly beautiful place with an incredibly beautiful Lake but the new owners are in it for the dollar and nothing more. Sorry to say I will never be back.

Loved camping ground it was awesome. The Fall Festival was spectacular they had so many vendors with such a huge selection my favorite was Barb's bunny Hutch for crafts and such. They had glassware with bird feeders plate flowers and so much solar stuff I couldn't believe my eyes. I also enjoyed all the fire departments with the very reasonably priced food that's what brings people out to these kind of festivals and makes it family friendly and very inexpensive for everybody to have a great time thanks Atwood.
