As someone who rarely writes negative reviews, I'll have to warn ANYONE considering hiring Carmine, the sole owner and operator of this chop shop. I called last week to which Carmine promised me he would come by WITHOUT charging for an initial fee. As he seemed so friendly, I thought I'd give him a try. This week when we're finally ready to schedule the appointment for tomorrow, guess what? All bets are off! Carmine proceeded to ask to charge $150 initial consultation fee JUST FOR SHOWING UP, which is double to triple others' fees in this area. Also, the condescending attitude DOES NOT HELP, CARMINE. To top it off, he had the NERVE to say "and I'll consider to apply it to the fixing cost, I MAY apply this as a credit". Anyone with ANY experience hiring contractors knows that it is absolutely customary for the initial consultation fee to be applied to the actual project cost. That's just basic standard operating procedure for ANYONE IN BUSINESS. I guess he figured I would be easy to fool. Read previous reviews and you'll see exactly why he chose to pick on me. Doesn't he know that the internet exists? Does he seriously think he's the only person I called? What a switch and bait ploy. To LIE to a potential customer is unacceptable and unprofessional. More importantly, it shows you what character this person has. I told him straight to his face "I don't trust you, no way I'm hiring you for anything." BEWARE OF Carmine and his shenanigans! Don't let his fake demeanor fool you - he's just going to waste your time like he did mine. What a fraud!

Nice guys but probably in the wrong business. I knew I needed a new mixing valve for my water heater but they sent a guy over for the initial diagnosis. He barely looks around and agrees that I need a new mixing valve. Gives me the option to order it myself or he does it for me and charges me extra. I decide to order it myself and give him a call when it gets here. He comes right away when I tell him the part is here. Barely even looks at the new piece I got and takes out the old part. After trying to install the new piece he tells me I ordered the wrong part (which I didn't). I tell him to put the old part back and leave my heater the way it was. Charges me for doing nothing and tells me to call him back once I get the new part and he'll do it for half the price. I get on the phone with the water heater company and they tell me it is the right part and the doofus was trying to fix something else entirely. I ended up fixing it myself just now. The entire time I knew more about this system then he did. That's $370 I'll never get back. They seem like good people though, I'll give them that.

Our old system could be characterized as an antique but we just couldn't afford a new system. Carmine and, his son, Ben understood our situation and managed to keep the terminally ill boiler alive for nine years. Finally, the water pump effectively exploded. Initially, we considered just replacing the pump but in the end we replaced the entire system. Obviously, this was a big expense for us but Carmine really worked to keep the cost as low as possible. This was a challenging job due to the age of our building and we couldn't be happier with the work they did. I would recommend this family business to anyone

Poor customer service. Was on the phone with the guy all of 15 seconds asking some basic questions. He interrupts me to place me on hold and never came back.
