I Have been eating here for about 9 years on and off and I just stopped in after about 5 months or so without frequenting and its really nice! I love the new Tables, the remodeled bathroom is pleasent looking. My food was good as always, The lady who took our order was friendly and helpful. I would say this is good Mex-American food with some dishes being very authentic, they also had horchata and jamica/hibiscus juice ready to serve and it looked like a very popular item a lot off people purchased this product while I was there. It is next door to a super busy, well known Tavern & I believe this helps get more customers to know about this spot, if not for this review; it is a good resturant and I would recommend it to my family and friends who are interested in mexican dish foods. It also within ten minutes of the eden prairie mall and just across the road from kowalski grocery store and I feel that makes it an easy location to get to; especially for the western suburbs who my want this food but don't want to travel all the way down to Lake street. I hear that the camerones al diablo shrip plate is recommend here! Parking: There are like 3 to 4 spaces directly infront of the business with signs for arelia's customers to park. Kid-friendliness: Kids menu
I got the steak and chicken fajitas, and they were really good, meat was super flavorful, and tender, veggies were fresh, but for some reason an "AUTHENTIC" Mexican restaurant has rice from a box and beans from a can. I love Mexican rice and beans, but not from a box or can. It honestly is an insult to put that on my plate. The service was ok, but you have to bus your own dishes... I wouldn't tip if I knew that. All in all, I wouldn't go out of my way to come back, but it's ok. As far as the rest, the restaurant was clean and nice looking.
I went here after the concert last night, it was a long busy day me and my partner had not eaten at all. We heard great stuff about this food, so we went ordered right behind a gentleman that ordered for his family from the same restaurant by the way. We proceeded to wait when we received a text from the restaurant our order was canceled and we would be refunded which we were confused because again the family just ordered before us literally and this place is open until 2am , so we ordered again and the restaurant canceled again, we tried to call no answer, the staff attempted to go back and ask why or what was happening to be told they closed early, then the cook was there but did not give a reason why they rejected the order. We we refused service for no reason no explanation at all… There is absolutely poor service and due to this experience I will never eat here.
A decent Mexican restaurant, they have all the favorites that are essential to good Mexican establishments. But the food was just missing some flavor in my opinion, meat seasonings seemed non existent. Also while I was dining I was facing the kitchen. I observed one of the kitchen staff grabbing tortilla chips then dipping it in the salsa on the line and then proceeding to eat it over the other condiments on the line. Disgusting, what if food/ saliva/ or anything lands back into the containers that is then served to customersSee pictures. It is unacceptable behavior, if you must eat at least step away from the food line and do so, or make yourself a small bowl of tortilla chips and salsa. Anyways beware of eating here since they do not follow simple food safety protocols. Besides this the cashier was friendly and the bathroom/ restaurant dining area was clean.
Why are all the best places hiding in some little corner or strip mall. The atmosphere was wonderful. Service was top notch for a small restaurant! I love trying new Mexican restaurants so I try a lot of them. In my opinion this is definitely top 5 for Mexican restaurants!Food: 5/5
Food is tasty but they always get the orders wrong. Like today, I ordered a breakfast burrito with no meat with avocado. I was charged $16.00 for a burrito with eggs, cheese and potato crazy expensive!. I'm happy to pay whatever ridiculous price someone wants for avocado but ya need to give it to me or else its just theft.Food: 2/5
I love this place! It’s no frills, great Mexican food that is done fast, but well. Have had several items on the menu and never been disappointed.Food: 5/5
Food was bomb as hell. Would be all 5 stars if I had a few more chips.Food: 4/5
We looked this place up because my husband and I had a taste for Mexican food. We had never seen this place before so we decided to try it out. The place is nice and cozy, not a big space but it was just right for us. The tabletops I think had just been redone and they were absolutely beautiful. The people were friendly and helped us with some of the questions we had about the menu. We waited for our food which was not long and when it came it looked divine. I had a fajita dinner, my tortillas were on the side and not in the picture and my husband decided to go with Aurelia's burrito. This burrito was massive and it filled my husband up. Everything was hot and fresh and tasted delicious. Would definitely go back here anytime!
Small dining area with great food and good service. It’s an order at the register type place. One of the better authentic Mexican food places near Minneapolis, without all the pomp and circumstance of the Mexican fusion places.Food: 5/5
