I recently lost my insurance. I was told by my doctor to call around for the best price on a medication I need filled. The pharmacist that answered told me. "You can't go around asking for the price of this kind of medication. Don't call around. Stick to your pharmacy."  

"How am I supposed to get the best price without calling around?"
"I dont don't know."
"Do you have any advice that Would help me pay for this medication?"
"No."

I understand a general suspicion, but telling me to not call around for the best price is both  stupid and harmful.

I found this compounding pharmacy when I needed special medications made up for my pets.  They are friendly, courteous and refill prescriptions promptly. They take time to explain dosage, and refrigeration or special storage requirements and always inquire about the progress of my kitty.  The parking lot is shared with a vet office and it can be tricky to enter/exit the sole driveway off busy Overland Avenue, but I won't delete a star for that since I appreciate the handy location.  I love that they are open Saturdays until 1:00 PM.

Nice staff but they're always very slow. Even when just picking up an Rx that is supposed to be ready it can take upwards of 20 minutes.
