Autzen Stadium

Story

Autzen Stadium is an outdoor football stadium in the northwest United States, in Eugene, Oregon. Located north of the University of Oregon campus, it is the home field of the Oregon Ducks of the Pac-12 Conference. Opened in 1967, the stadium has undergone several expansions. The official capacity is 54,000. However, attendance at the stadium regularly exceeds 54,000.HistoryPrior to 1967, the Ducks' on-campus stadium was Hayward Field, which they shared with the track and field team. However, by the 1960s, it had become apparent that the 22,500-seat stadium was no longer suitable for the football team. The Ducks only played three home games per year on campus in most years; with the exception of the Civil War, the annual rivalry game with Oregon State, games that were likely to draw big crowds (against schools like Washington and USC) were played north in Portland at the larger Multnomah Stadium. With the recognition that the football team had outgrown the campus facility and with popular support to play the entire home schedule in Eugene, Oregon athletic director Leo Harris led a campaign to build a new stadium on 90acre that the school had acquired for the purpose in the 1950s on his recommendation.

Autzen stadium is a great place to watch the best Oregon football team. The food is mediocre and expensive but it won't kill you. The atmosphere is amazing and the games are always entertaining. I rarely go to other sporting events, etc. because I would rather watch the game from my own living room. The Ducks games are always worth going to! Would recommend to anyone unless you are rooting for the opposing team. Go Ducks!!!!!

I enjoyed this venue when we traveled to Eugene to watch Nebraska play here in 2017. The day was beautiful, sunny and decent weather with blue skies and mountains....very enjoyable. However my buddy, an Oregon alum, asked me to rate the noise level. People until you come to Lincoln Nebraska to Memorial Stadium on a B1G night game you will never truly understand what LOUD is. No, Autzen does not come close to the noise level of a Husker game or much less a Michigan game.

The most energetic sports facility I've ever been to! The most loyal fan base! A place that inspires culture unlike any other. There truly isn't a bad seat or view in the entire place. The have seat backs with butt cushions you can rent for $8 which is cool, totally worth it and strongly recommend if you want enjoy the game in comfort. Food is pretty decent, being that it comes es from a stadium and it is also reasonably priced. The surrounding area is absolutely stunning and I would recommend going a day other than game day to fully enjoy the nature around Autzen. Go Ducks!

I have performed in two marching band competitions in this stadium, and it is the most awe-inspiring stadium I have ever been. The architecture is very modern, prices are reasonable, acoustics are amazing. I have also gone to many football games here and the experience is unforgettable.

Great place to watch a football game. Really high energy. The food is pretty diverse. Not too many bad seats, as the fans are right on top of the action. Plus, IT NEVER RAINS IN AUTZEN STADIUM! Go Ducks!
