This Avenue store is not the place to go for Customer Service - shop on line instead. I was excited to purchase a sweater that was advertised and could not make it over before Christmas. I thought the 30% off coupon expired on Dec 31. As it turned out, it expired Dec 24. I have shopped there regularly and when I saw this, I thought - no problem -they will take care of me. Manager Linda was on duty that evening. I was stunned when she said no. I'm used to people that will take care of their customers. The entire store was filled with sale flyers. Big red 30-50 % off signs everywhere. Seemed like everything had a sale price. Except for the wall of sweaters where my selection was. Keep in mind that 3 days prior (the store was closed on the 25th) - I could have applied a 30% off. I asked what my options were. Certainly she could have come up with an option for me. She said I would need to open a charge account and she would give me 40% off the item. Unbelievable - seems that was my only option. I left. I am super disappointed and determined to buy elsewhere. I found the same sweater at Avenue on-line for 40% off.

Plus sized woman's clothing store. Some of the stock is dowdy (more like a Catherine's), but they also have some trendier items. I'd say it's on par with a Lane Bryant. Maybe a bit more casual than LB and with a larger shoe selection. This is a national chain. Over the years I've realized that the local store has a lot of control over what stock they carry. There used to be a location in Seattle's Crown Heights neighborhood, but they were always carrying stuff my grandma wouldn't wear (probably why they closed). I prefer to shop on the website where there is a greater variety then ship-to-store and pick it up. They frequently have coupons so when I shop online I hit up Retailmenot's before checking out.
