I did not wait for long when I went to pick my car. The staff were quick and friendly. The car I got that day was a Mazda 3 and it was a well maintained car and my travel was without hassles. Avis is close to downtown Lafayette and is accessible by bus from the CityBus center. The last time I traveled to that place, there was no visible bus stop to get down, so make sure you pull the chord before the signal on Sagamore Parkway.

Was given keys and told he didn't have time to clean it and he'd try another one if it was to dirty.

Never had any issue with service here.  AVIS is great in general and this is a very good example of the brand. 

Had an idiot light come on in a Camry while I was in Dallas.  I wasn't sure what it meant and the car was running fine.   I called in to report it and they told me it just meant the car was due for service.   He pulled my location and saw that I was at a shopping mall and asked would I be there for an hour or so.  I answered that my wife and I were shopping and would be there for at least an hour.   He told me there was a Sears car center at the mall and then phoned them to let them know I was dropping the car off for service on their AVIS account.  They were expecting me when I arrived.  I dropped off the car and walked back through the mall to meet my wife.   When we were done shopping we walked back to Sears and they had the car fully serviced and ready to go for us. 

Great service and peace of mind not having to drive the car all the way back to Lafayette with that light on the whole way.

I rented a full size car, when I picked it up, I got a vw jetta, it's a good car. However, there's some problems with the charger. I cant drive it all the way to nyc, cause I need my phone for gps. So I go back to switch a car. The man there gave me a Mazda 3 and claim it is a full size car. What a joke! Mazda 3 is an intermidiate level on its official website. After we talked about it, he finally gave me a nissan SUV, and chage me 120 more for 5 days rental. That car had 50k miles on it and only run 19 mpg on the highway. Which means I spend at least $250 more than I expected. Moreover, they do have a ride services, but if you really need it you should ask in advance to make sure you will get the services.

I called several times before making my reservation and was always treated with respect and got all of my questions answered. When we came to pick up our rental it was clean and was better than we expected. We felt pampered on our trip and struggled to return it. I would have bought it and will probably buy something like it soon! The dropoff process was a breeze! I will definitely return to this location!
