Been ordering older new Yamaha parts from these guys for awhile now. Shipping a tad expensive on orders but worth it for hard to find 40 year old parts. Every time I call I get a hold of someone within a minute and I can understand them on the phone ; Great customer service for online orders!
I use to enjoy the ease of buying my parts from babbits. Not anymore. Shipping is normally twice the actual price. If a part is on back order they do not tell you this. Weeks can go by, and you realize they hadn't shipped anything. You have to call and investigate. They have an answer of yes looks like these parts are on back order. We don't send emails out to notify you, that's our policy. I have a package that's been stuck half way from here to my house, they say there is nothing we can do for 2 weeks, then we can make a claim with the post office. Their has been small issues over the years I looked past. But their "customer service and policies" are a big problem When I said maybe I'll shop somewhere else. He said go right ahead I rebuild 10-15 bikes a year. If that doesn't matter then so be it
I ordered some parts from their website. They shipped in 2 different packages. One package got to me and the other is still "in transit". I asked what the plan was to get me my part and they have to submit a claim to USPS...which I know is not going to produce anything its USPS. I asked about the next step and because I didn't buy $5 shipping insurance I am out of pocket. Yeah you can blame me for not getting $5 insurance along with the already $9.99 shipping and the $13 part...was trying to save money...I blame myself for not buying it local and spending a little more, which would have saved me in the end. Take it from me and buy local! UPDATE: I was contacted and was helped out. The first person I spoke to was just following policy, which I understand as a business owner. If you do have a problem, I suggest when you call ask for a supervisor.
Excellent customer service. Stephanie in customer service took the time to research the parts I needed by using my VIN number to correspond with the manufacture. She was quick to reply to my emails and helped me secure hard to find parts. Babbitt's is now my first stop when purchasing parts online. Thank you Stephanie for your help and excellent customer service.
I've put in almost half a dozen orders in the past 2 months. They have the best prices, by far. Plus, they offer parts for both makes of fourwheelers I own. They also ship fairly quickly after you order. My last order, however, has been a nightmare. First, they didn't combine my 2 orders to ship together. Instead, they took my order of over $300 an shipped it the slowest USPS method possible. It got tied up or lost for a whole week. Once it finally arrived, the box was busted open and missing parts. I contacted Babbitt's for the replacement of the missing parts and let them know I was extremely unimpressed with the super slow shipping they chose versus combining the parts with my other order they FedEx'd the same day, or just paying $2 more for Priority. They sent the replacement package, again, with the slowest possible mail option. The replacement showed up a whole week later. They fudged on the quantity and only sent me 1 instead of 4. I let them know this time that I fully expected quicker shipping as this order was nearing a month old and they screwed up twice already. I didn't get a response from a human this time, just a tracking number for, yet again, the slowest possible mail option. If their prices weren't this good, I'd have given 1 star and taken my business elsewhere.
I bought a single part and had it shipped to my house. Not only was it nearly $20 for shipping and delivery, but it was shipped a week after I ordered it and It's been 12 days and the location is still "unknown." The delivery date kept getting pushed back. Besides this issue, the process of order is fairly easy and they make it easy to find parts on their site.
Today, I inquired about parts needed. I called to make sure they were in stock. After double checking over the phone to verify the right make & model for my unit, I arrived only to discover it wasn’t the right one. I traveled an hour an half for the wrong parts. Resulting in our weekend vacation coming to early end. This seems to have become a trend for the past few years now. Sadly, 7 of the last 9 orders from Babbitt’s have not been correct. Typically, I just return the parts and move on. This is the straw that broke the camels back. This review was intended to give insight for the business to reflect upon. Hoping this can help coordinate a restructure in the parts department.
I placed an order for a control unit for a generator and had no contact for more than a month. I contacted the store and was informed that they had none of the parts in stock. Once they had the part, they sent it to me at which point I installed it but was not getting the required power. I contacted Babbitts and they were unable to tell me if it was a 240 or 110 volt control unit. With no help from Babbitts, an electrician tested and found it was a 110 volt unit that was sent to me not the 240 volt unit. I contacted Babbitts again and was then informed they would not take a return on electrical items even though it is the wrong part, brand new and cost me over $500. I am still waiting to hear back from them after my most recent email. Very unimpressed with the supply time, customer service and response times.
Great service. Friendly and helpful. We were quoted a higher price because of what should've been needed to fix it. Once they got in, they saw only some of the parts were needed. They were honest about it. They told us they didn't need all the parts. The quote ended up being $500 less. We really appreciate the honesty.
