Beautiful and cozy campground with lots of soft green grass to set up camp on! Doug is a great host and makes some killer hot dogs. Definitely check this place out. Good for families and couples. Kids will love playing by the creek and listening to the bull that occasionally talks to you from across the water! This site is also conveniently close to Brevard and right next to DuPont State forest!

Great for convenience to seeing the area. Only a few spots so definitely call and reserve early. Nothing for kids so bring toys.  Doug is great and very accommodating. Fire wood is offered for a very nominal price. Nice new clean shower! Came back after leaving to grab a hot dog and Doug provided me and my daughter with a complimentary lunch. Will definitely be back and will recommend to others. Keep up the good work there Doug. Thanks again!

Almost forgot, we saw a white squirrel came by our campsite! Didn't know if you knew about your little friend there Doug?

We enjoyed every moment of our weekend celebrating our 1st Wedding Anniversary here. It was very peaceful and such a beautiful area. If you are looking to spend time on the trails of either the Dupont State Forest or  the Pisgah National Forest this is a great location quick drive to both. There are also several small towns near by that you can just stroll the streets and look at all the wonderful shops. We highly recommend staying at Back Yard Campground. Also you can not beat the yummy hot dogs. We will be returning soon.

If you're planning a trip to the Pisgah National Forest, DuPont State Forest, or to Brevard, NC then this is where you need to be camping! Skip the overcrowded campgrounds that never seem to be quiet and go with this location, which is a quiet plot of land belonging to the nicest guy in the world, Doug. There are only a handful of sites, which helps with the noise, and is right next to a beautiful pasture with cows and horses for you to observe. There's also a little creek on the property. With onsite port-a-restrooms (very clean, plenty of toilet paper), firewood for $5, picnic tables and firepits at each site, and an amazing hotdog stand (!!), we thoroughly enjoyed our time camping at Back Yard Campground. Plus, it's only about a 10 minute drive to either Pisgah or DuPont, so you really can't get much better than that! We stayed for 3 nights and didn't want to leave; will definitely return.

Great place to camp while riding at Dupont State Forest. And Doug's hot dogs are delicious!
