We all have been there when we are shopping around for someplace different to go get our hair done. It can leave you with your nerves in a bunch not knowing how your hair is going to turn out. After going to see Marilyn at Backstage Salon for the first time, I can say I am 100% satisfied! She listened to my needs and knew exactly the look I was going for! She does an amazing job and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone who is affordable but makes you look and feel New Again! THANKS MARILYN, I LOVE my hair!

Marylyn was my stylist. I had asked for a simple ombré and I had went in with the hopes of getting just that. I usually see Jen, and I am amazed with her results, so I figured it would be the same. I had showed her a picture with an ombré, and specified that I wanted just that. She gave me highlights, and a chunk of blonde in the back of my head. I was very unhappy with my results and decided to call back and request a fix. I asked for a fix with Jen, but of course Marylyn was the one who was going to fix it. I went in again and had both my mother and I SPECIFICALLY ask for an ombré only 4-5 inches up from the tips, and I showed multiple pictures once again. I received blonde 2-3 inches away from my roots all the way down, and the top layer of my hair was completely untouched. I now have to live with my ruined hair as I don’t have the money to have it fixed again, nor the patience. I am completely unhappy with my experience, and very sad and frustrated that my hair is now ruined.

You get what you pay for, and I don't mind a budget salon but when the service is low level, might as well stay home. This was the worst service. Marlyn was my stylist and I'm sure she's a great person but was not even remotely professional. She didn't introduce herself as my stylist, she walked up and said "you ready?", pointing at the chair (17 mins after my apt time). She continued to direct me around the salon by only pointing where I should go next. I was really hoping for a relaxing wash and blow out, but the way she was gripping and pulling my hair, made both experiences anything but relaxing. She had dangling bracelet that continously smacked my eye and rattled loudly in the sink. 
By the time all was said and done, I looked in the mirror and was surprised that I didn't have half of a head of cornrows, with all the jerking and pulling on my head. My hair looked fine afterwards, but I can do my own hair, it was the EXPERIENCE I was willing to pay for.

Both my wifes haircut and mine were a rush job. The cuts were completely uneven from one side to another. They did not give us what we asked for. And to make things worse she used the same clippers on me and my wife without any sterilizer in between or hair clean up in between us. Now my wife and i have to treat are scalps for a folliculitis outbreak. Dirty, unprofessional, i grew up helping in a salon the service, quality and cleaniness is appauling here!!! The one star is for good conversation during the cut!
