Founded by the Waters family in 2012, Backwoods has set the course to be a true Pacific Northwest brewery with their hearty beer and amazing food. This is a small local town brewery, not a place that people would just "drive by" and see. From the outside it looks like a big metal shop style building and the entrance to the brew pub is around back. We got there right when they were opening, so it wasn't very busy and the reason my pictures have nobody in them. But by the time we left it was filling up. We didn't eat, just had a taster tray to share and a pint. Next time we will visit and try the pizza because it looked really good. The ambiance here is great - exactly what you would expect from a place called backwoods. The woodwork is really nice. The service was good and quick. We enjoyed almost everything on the taster tray, but the Ridge Run Stout was our favorite. They also have this rack of great smelling homemade natural body products and candles..... Great Stuff! Logo shirts and goodies for sale too! Hope to be in the area soon again so we can try that pizza!

Top-notch venue, top-notch food, top-notch beer! I have not once had a bad experience here with any of the above. It is a bit of a drive from Vancouver/Portland but well worth it! My favorite is the lumberyard IPA. Nice and tropical and hazy. Their pizza is delicious!

Backwoods has excellent pizza, at first they brought out our medium half/half pizza wrong but they made up for it by making the other half a whole small pizza for free! Many different toppings offered including vegan cheese. The beers were pretty good too, we liked many of the beers in our flight. Descent prices, probably one of the best restaurants in the area!

Great place to be ignored by staff. Went there got seated and picked out what we wanted. But got tired of watching at least 5 servers hang out behind the counter ignoring everybody. One was playing with the tv channels. We never even got an order in. After 15 minutes of that we walked out. They wouldn’t even make eye contact when we tried to get their attention!
