I came here for a bday brunch on a Sunday, food was great, service was good. This is a black owned establishment and I love the food and culture it represents. Try the lemon pepper wings OMG crispy like Korean fried chicken and seasoned so well. Also had the salmon and grits from the brunch menu. Salmon cooked to perfection. Some other dishes my family had was the shrimp and grits so yummy and the steak and eggs. On Sundays there's a selected menu for brunch. They play great music and unlimited mimosa specials. I've also been here to try the regular bbq menu items one friday.. drinks were great and everything we tried was also amazing buffalo fried shrimp, rack of ribs, more wings, empanadas highly recommend if you're on the mile or in long island in general looking for some good bbq food which is a rare offering in long island.

The best BBQ of Long Island! Didn't have anything bad it was all Amazing! Highly recommend The Salt and Pepper Wings, Rack of Ribs, Cornbread and Yams!! Super Friendly staff! Definitely coming back!!

Food is seasoned well. The slow cooked ribs are done correctly. Moist and flavorful. Not enough BBQ sauce on the ribs though. The greens and Mac & cheese are prepared well too. Southern style. I will visit again for them fried shrimp. The music was too loud, you had to talk loud to be heard. Bathrooms are clean too.

Backyard BBQ is the  hidden gem on the nautical mile!! The collard green empanadas w/cheese sauce on point. Honey Lemon pepper wings are fire as well. Be sure to try the clams as well. Drinks are top notch. Will definitely return to this location. Servers/bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable of menu items and they give great suggestions if you’re undecided.

The food was pretty good ! I didn't know they had brunch so I recently went there for the first time. It was interesting experience but surprisingly I would go back. The brunch item had about 5 dishes to choose from, but it was pretty good I ordered the lemon pepper wings. The bottomless was great because I like the fact that they give you your own carafe at the table and the mimosa was pretty strong. The service was great however the music was extremely loud so if you're sensitive to noise do not go!

The food here is always great the service is a pleasure and a good atmosphere highly recommend.

Probably the worst BBQ I've had on Long Island. The brisket was extremely tough and the fat, which was 90% of what was on my plate, wasn't rendered at all. Definitely not cooked long enough. It tasted good, but I couldn't get past the toughness. The fries were pretty good, but that's about the only thing I enjoyed. If it was cheaper I would understand although I still wouldn't come back, but it was pretty expensive despite the quality.

I had the Best Experience Ever!! The food was amazing, great customer service and a great location.. If you are in the Freeport area please stop there!! Way to go guys:

"There's no BBQ spot in Nautical Mile" - Someone important.    Lies!!  There's a great spot that I look forward to visiting again. Great service, great food and a good mix of music. Jazz and R&B Ordered a two meat meal. Ribs were fantastic. Chicken was a bit dry though. Still giving a 5 for overall experience.
