Ordered a Chicken Caesar wrap with avocado and it seems like the careless person that made the wrap threw in the avocado peel, the avocado they used was also rotten because it was black as the picture shows. Unfortunately I noticed the peel WITH the avocado STICKER near the end of the wrap, couldn’t even finish because it GROSSED me out. I called them to explain and they told me they were going to send me another wrap but I had to send this one back.. I wasn’t even in Rockaway anymore. It’s not like their food is cheap either between this and an order of fries it was $21. They should have better customer service.
I was looking forward to trying out Bagel Barista Station, but I was a little disappointed by the service. The place looked nice and spacious, but they had more people giving out orders than making them, so we had to wait a long time for our sandwiches. And when we finally got them, my bacon, eggs, and cheese was cold! My wife was happy with her toasted bagel with cream cheese and lox, but I don't think we will go back...
This new place is AWESOME!! This is exactly what B116th St. needed. The subway design with the artistic graffiti is incredible and well thought out. It brings a lot of character to the neighborhood. They have a huge menu that has just about everything you would need and expect. Love the self service coffee island. The selection of hot and iced coffee is incredible and since you make it yourself it comes out just the way you like it. The owners are locals who are incredible people. So happy to have this place in the neighborhood. THANK YOU!!
I ordered a sandwich and told them that instead of putting mustard and oil and vinegar on the sandwich, put it on the side as I didn't want the sandwich to get soggy. Usually, this is not a problem. Today, the girl at the register said I would have to pay an extra $1.50 for the mustard and an extra $1.50 for oil and an extra $1.50 for vinegar. This was really odd. The sandwich was good, but I wish I didn't have to pay an extra $4.50. The sandwich itself was only $12. I frequent here often, so maybe this was an isolated incident
Update: Shortly after my original review below, the owner responded. Fake apologized for the wait and focus was on me bashing the work ethics of the shop. Nothing on how there was turkey meat attached to my bagel wrapper or apology for the unsanitary work and long wait for a bagel that just needed spread and didn't even need to be toasted. I've seen shops that are much smaller work faster after receiving the order, so I honestly don't think a 13 minute made sense for such a simple order. Long story short, the owner of this establishment does not value it's customers. If they did, they would have just apologized and asked the customer to come back with hopes that there would be improvement at the next visit. The owner instead decided to throw back a snarky comment...so I will not be returning to this spot and I wouldn't suggest going to this place for anyone wondering...their bagels aren't even very good and it can be a bit confusing for a first time customer. I ordered an egg bagel with scallion cream cheese. I figured it wouldn't take long and my friend who ate here previously told me it was good. My order said it was paid for at 12:56pm and I didn't receive my order until 1:09PM. I am sure that because of the wait, I missed a couple of trains and had to wait an extra 10 minutes for it. There should have been no reason for me to have to wait 15 minutes for a bagel, especially since it was so simple and didn't even have to be toasted. The bagel was not properly wrapped, exposing some of the bagel and when I went to open the wrapper I noticed there was turkey and lettuce stuck to it, which makes me feel like they aren't cleaning the workspace properly or they aren't changing gloves. If I were vegetarian or vegan this would be an issue. There was very little cream cheese and the bagel was pretty dry. Not worth the $4.50 when I could've gotten it for half the price in Brooklyn. The vegetarian cream cheese looks like there aren't real vegetables in it..it has specka of red, orange and green, which leaves me wondering if they just mixed in ranch powder. The area where you pay for your food seemed to be over packed with teenage girls and an older lady who looks like she is their coach. Many people were waiting a while for their order and this was a disappointing first visit to a place that was highly recommended.
This is a very nice Coffee Shop with very nice workers. The food is very GoodTasty. The atmosphere is Cozy and I Love the different varieties of coffee and their coffee always taste great. I give this place 5 overall.Food: 4/5
got off the bus at the end of the 53 bus line and this place was right there. Took a minute to figure the place out, like what they were offering and where to place our order. But there are easy to read signs and helpful staff to steer us in the right direction. We ordered some paint sandwich with eggplant and mozzarella cheese. Definitely had no idea what to expect, we were pleasantly surprised. It was so yummy, just perfect. We loved the whole experience and would go back to try some other menu items.
Google says they close at 7 on Sunday. Went there at 6:30 all the way from Brooklyn and they were closed. Also sometimes girls behind desk have an attitude. If don’t don’t like your job go find another. Adjust your business hours.Food: 5/5
Edit // To top it off, I just noticed the level of professionalism coming from an owner responding to my review below. Sounds a lot like a middle school bully or just a wholly uneducated snarky weirdo with 0 management skills. Not an ideal way to respond to paying customers but thankfully there are plenty of better spots all over rockaway. Anyway, I took 2 more stars off the 3 star food rating of my original review as a thanks for the entertaining reply. ---------- Bad local business. They took advantage of my 70 year old mom, saying there was a $35 minimum to deliver an order 10 minutes away. Avoid. Bagels are fine, but that's the bare minimum to be expected in NYC. Don't take advantage of people. Do better. Disgusting business practices and just another dime a dozen spot. Will never go here again.
Giving two stars because my daughter enjoyed the chicken fingers and fries. I’ll start by saying it was probably a mistake on my part to order through Grubhub. Not that that is an excuse for this. Ordered a 17$ burrito added avocado from the ‘employee favorites’ and received a quesadilla ?. I honestly would have been fine with it because I’m hungry but it was constructed like they were angry about having to make it. The peppers were slapped on like it was an afterthought and half the tortilla didn’t have cheese? I work in the service industry so I understand that things happen but…
