Bagels On The Ave has been my favorite restaurant for the past 2 weeks, it's like they couldn't make a mistake. I've been ordering almost daily, and extremely pleased with each order.

Until today. I ordered a Traditional Waffle for breakfast to try something new and what showed up was an order of french toast. So I called the restaurant to try and get the order straightened out and was told that the order said I had put a note asking for french toast instead of a waffle on my notes....

That makes no sense why would someone do that instead of just ordering the french toast? The french toast which is CHEAPER than the waffle I might add.

So I called the site I ordered through and asked them to see what was doing on and after following up with the restaurant they found out the restaurants waffle machine was broken and they'd taken it upon themselves to substitute a cheaper item for what I ordered and then lied to me about why they did it. The site also removed waffles from their menu for now because they are unable to make them.

Honestly a great restaurant before just completely lost a customer because of pointless and stupid lying and underhandedness.

I'll look beyond my asking for a whole wheat everything and getting a plain whole wheat bagel and have to say this place is just average.

The bagel had okay consistency and little flavor, the cream cheese was fine. The decor and vibe is cool but I'll walk the few more blocks to Brooklyn Bagel or go across the street to New York Bagel and coffee house once it opens

So. Good. Amazing bagels, got fresh lox and cream cheese.  Was pricey however. Great spot for a recovery breakfast but not a whole lot of seating available.

Simply luv it. Very courteous staff, always attentive and willing to help. Great selection of bagels and options to BYO. See my "Desperado Vegan" one in the photo LOL (please for those more versed in veganism, be kind in killing my hopes this was vegan... still delicious and at least "best-effort")
