Bakersfield Behavioral Healthcare Hospital, located in Bakersfield, California, is an acute psychiatric 90 bed facility situated on 8.8 acres. Bakersfield Behavioral offers specialized units for children (ages 5-12), adolescents (ages 13-17) and adults (ages 18+) with mental/behavioral health and/or substance use problems. To achieve this, we offer several programs with a variety of services to accommodate our patients’ We offer inpatient services for children, adolescents and adults needing mental/behavioral health, chemical dependency; and co-occurring disorders treatment through our medically supervised detoxification.
Our outpatient services program offers a variety of adult mental/behavioral health, chemical dependency and co-occurring disorders intensive outpatient therapy groups. Our full continuum of care provides patients different levels at which to begin their care and to continue their treatment.

Totally incompetent staff , worked to get addmission for a patient into a rehab vacillity only to have them drop the ball and not having correct paper worked filled out and signed by Dr. There by losing a confirmed bed for patient in rehab. Back on a waiting list and starting from scratch. I don't care attitude very apparent from social sevices and denial of any wrong doing. This place could do more harm than good to anyone in need of urgent care..... Please call hospital board and report them wirh any issues you might experience....

Extremely poor service and poor communication. My sister, who is bipolar, was admitted here for two weeks with no improvement whatsoever. Communication between staff & family was incredibly disorganized with Nate (hospital supervisor) finally calling us to pick her up within 24 hours with no professional advice or prescription for her. An incredibly disheartening experience and total waste of time and resources.

Don't look for help here. This is where you put people when you don't want to be bothered by them. The patients i lived with here for 3 days had a wide variety of problems and were treated the same. Breakfast lunch dinner, with a 10 -15 min doc visit 3-4 group sessions and tv and a box of markers thats it every day.

This place has the worst communication problem ever. and no patient confidentiality rights ever. I had to spend a week there and an employee i know told other people I was there without my consent. and their employees fight with each other in front of patients. and to top it off their billing dept sent me to collection even though they have both of my insurance companies information. they need to shut this place down.

Terrible communication. Dr. Ma is the worst. This place is practically a prison just looking to bill your insurance. They tried to administer meds so they could extend the days our daughter would have to stay u see supervision. Dr. Ma hung up on us instead of discussing options with us or hearing our concerns. He should be ashamed. The cafeteria where visiting ours is held is filthy.
