My family and I have been going to the Balaton restaurant for more than 50 years. I remember when they started out on Buckeye Road in Cleveland. My mother was Hungarian and she loved eating there, as do I and my family. If I could give them 6 Stars I would. The food is outstanding and the portions large. Enjoy.

Warm, affordable, family-like place with delicious homemade Hungarian food. This is that kind of place where traditional and quality ingredients are still the kitchen pillars. ...And you can taste it! Good selection of bottled beers, imported and not. Service is kind, polite and attentive, accommodating small variations (due to allergies) with no fuss. Parking in the back is a plus. Always a pleasure having dinner here. Highly recommend.

Better Potato Pancakes than my mother makes! Excellent food, but slightly slow service. Worth it anyway! Don't forget to get the Potato Pancakes. You can thank me later!
Went back again. Potato pancakes are still wonderful. Try the Fuzzy Chicken.

Balaton was the perfect place to host our wedding rehearsal dinner. We recommend them for anyone looking to host a larger gathering. They serve family style food at an affordable price that includes salads and soft drinks, dessert and coffee. And the food here is incredible. Old-world Hungarian/German food made from scratch. The owners and their daughters were very helpful and managed our rowdy group with ease. They have a larger room that can hold up to 50 people, but we had 30 for our event. The room was very warm which is the only complaint I have. The servings were huge and the food was delicious.
