I guess I should have looked at the other reviews. I truly believe this clinic is all about squeezing every bit of money they can from you. I was talked into a plan so that my dog could have a yearly cleaning. So my plan is raised by almost 20 dollars a month. I drop my dog off to have his cleaning unaware he would be having labs done before the cleaning. I get a phone call saying his numbers were off and basically because the cleaning was not done I would have to pay 115 for labs. I truly feel this cost should have been written off because one I was not aware of the labs in the first place and second this is the second time I have tried to get my dogs teeth cleaned and Banfield cancelled because they had recalled IV tubes. Believe me there are so many other complaints I have with this Clinic but this last one has made them lose a customer.

Dropped my dog off at 08:30 am for check up. Picked him up at 4:00 pm. He slurped 2 medium bowls of water down. I asked Carol (front Desk) about water. She informed me they do not give the animals water (unless requested) because the pets would need to be taken to the restroom. I stated let them go in the cage. Carol advised thet was NOT an option. Does that mean they don't clean the cages???? This is NOT the first time this has happened!

On Tuesday, I lost my beloved Happy to of all things -- pneumonia. For her entire (almost) 11 years she went to Banfield. First in South Carolina, and then in Georgia. And, I am incensed! It's been two days since she died, and not a phone call, not a note, not anything from the Banfield in Lilburn, Ga. She had a comprehensive exam on march 28, and several days later she started being sluggish-- not that much, just a little. I finally took her to the vet about a week after her comp, and said she's not really eating and she doesn't really want to take walks. The gave me dog food that was easy on the stomach. She ate some, but really not much and continued to be lethargic. I took her back two days later, and said something is amiss, and now, she's breathing irregularly and losing lots of weight, and she's in pain. They said: Well, nothing physically seems wrong, but she's in pain for something. So, they gave me pain medicine with anti-inflammatory properties and an appetite stimulant. That was last Friday. Over the weekend, she didn't really perk up except once, and I determined the meds were doing nothing, and I called back. I asked for xrays, blood work, etc. Before I could take her in on Tuesday I came in and she was curled up in a ball. In shock -- for some reason, and obviously having problems breathing. I call the Banfield again, and they say bring her in so we can stabilize her, and then you'll probably have to go to the ER. Well, of course, Banfield did not know what was happening! Completely useless. I rushed her to the ER, and the ER Vet said -- It's pneumonia. She hadn't even taken an xray before she had deduced that. But, it was too late for my dog. She coded twice, and I finally told them to stop CPR. I'm devastated and FURIOUS. Not only was Banfield negligent in their care of my dog, they also were incompetent. After all their years of vet training, it amounted to nothing. And, now that they know she has passed away I've not gotten one call. I called to ask them some questions, and they have not called back. I don't know why I expected them to care about Happy, but it's evident they didn't. The ER Vet deduced that Happy got aspiration pneumonia from a procedure -- likely dental cleaning -- that Banfield did. I will never again use Banfield. 11 years as a patient, and the company couldn't even bother to say: I'm sorry for your loss. Deplorable. Heartless. Never again.

My dog, Max, developed a hematoma on October the 12th of 2016. We took him to Banfield Hospital located at 2150 Paxton Drive SW, Lilburn, GA 30047 that same day. We were told that he needed immediate surgery to prevent disfiguration of his ear due to an un-repaired hematoma. Max was scheduled for surgery the next day. The surgery was performed by two veterinarians, Mary Lynn Pilkinton (license number VET007285) and Amanda Sara Holley(VET009585). During the surgery the vet cut the nerve to my dog's ear and since then his ear is painful to touch, has atrophied and is disformed. I later found that the vet performing the surgery has very little experience in hematoma repairs which is why a second doctor was present to coach her as she did the surgery. My dog was seen once after the surgery and we were told that his ear was healing fine. As weeks went by it became obvious that something was wrong with my dog's ear because it had shriveled down to half its size, was lifeless and he could not move his ear. I then scheduled another appointment with the treating doctor who said that the ear looked good and that the deformity was normal. I confronted her and said that the whole reason for spending nearly $1000 was to prevent disfiguration of my pet’s ear. She then stated that I misunderstood and that the consent form that my son signed waived any complaint that I might have due to complications of the surgery. I told her that this was unacceptable and asked her to provide treatment to my dog to correct the problem. I also said if she could not help us, I wanted a doctor who could do corrective surgery or provide some solution to the problem. She said I would have to speak with their office manager, Michelle, who could authorize a solution. I then immediately met with Michelle, and told her that I wanted a refund of my money since my dog had been injured and that I wanted medical care to correct the injury. I asked for my dog's medical records but was told that they didn't have all his records on-site and that I would be provided them in a few days. I told Michelle to take pictures of my dog’s ear and forward them to the regional medical director. Michelle also promised a call to follow-up in a few days and a call from Banfield Hospital's regional medical director, Paul Ducher. I week passed and no one call so I called to speak with Michelle who was unavailable. I left a message with the receptionist who said that she would ask Michelle to return my call. I waited another week and Michelle did not call back so I called again. I have since then called at least three additional times requesting to speak with Michelle and Dr. Paul Ducher who have failed to return my call or address my pet’s medical care. Their refusal to provide call to my pet has lead to deterioration of my dog's ear. Each time that my family looks at our pet, we see that our beautiful pet's appearance is no longer the same which has caused great stress to our family. When I told the Snellville Banfield that I was going to go to their corporate office, I was told that it wouldn’t make a difference since any compensation would have to be approved by them. I have four pets that have been patients of Banfield for many years and their recent behavior is shameful. They have intentionally tried mislead me and to cover up what they have done to my pet in addition to denying him medical care which may have corrected the surgical injury that they caused. They have shown a lack of integrity as a veterinary medical facility and no other pets or pet owner should be subjected to their malpractice. I do not want any other pets harmed by the doctors involved and for the public to be made aware of substandard and incompetent care to pets. They refuse to refund my money or to correct the damage done to my dog's ear. I searched the internet regarding hematoma surgery and this is not a normal surgical outcome.
