I have been to many Banfield locations, and this is by far the best one! With a high maintenance pug who has every allergy in the world, Dr. Plotz was the first vet to take time and discuss various options with us. She never made us feel pressured that one thing or the other was best and she kept our budget in mind. We have finally found a medicine that works for him! They are also awesome when it comes to nail trims, as pugs are notorious for hating it, they always make sure he is taken care of. Dr. Plotz is absolutely amazing.

I have never been to the south park office, however, we love Dr. Kara Plotz, Chief of Staff at this location. We saw Dr. Plotz at the Matthews location with our sweet, very sick 11 week old Dobermna puppy. We were worried and desperate and she did everything she could do to help us. The condition our pup had required surgery so she referred us to an emergency vet immediately. In the days after our puppy passed away due to complications from the surgery, and as soon as she found out Dr. Plotz reached out to us to comfort us. Not only do I trust her as a professional, but her bedside manner is amazing. Her care and kind words comforted us during a difficult time, and we are at peace knowing that we did all we could to help our dog. I will definitely trust Dr. Plotz with my pets in the future!

This place is awesome with cats! They treated mine so well and the place they keep them to be picked up is a former bank vault so it's super quiet and the dogs don't scare them!

I'm hoping that this review will prevent other pet lovers from being exploited by the predatorial practices resulting in emotive and economic drain that Banfield has put us through. I have brought two different dogs to this location one almost died after a routine teeth cleaning and the other (less than a year old) almost died after a week of treatment that 2 other vet clinics/hospitals in the area determined within seconds what the problem was which Banfield missed. To make matters worse, one Banfield issued a script which another Banfield stopped the very next day. Over the ensuing 5 days, there were 3 visits to this clinic where they continued to issue, charge, and then change/cancel prescription meds after we paid for everything. In addition to missing a serious neurological issue, and issuing about 5 different scripts in the course of a few days, some of which they told us to stop, they billed wellness plans for both dogs. If that wasn't enough, and after many thousands of dollars spent at this clinic and a great urgent care (Carolina Vet Hospital in Pineville), Banfield continued to bill us monthly for wellness plans. And they tried to schedule the other dog for teeth cleaning. When I called they said that teeth cleaning is needed every year and yet when I checked with other clinics they suggest once every 2-3 years. Banfield is a subscription and insurance billing machine and I'd strongly counsel anyone against use of their wellness, insurance, or general practice locations. When the doctors finally responded to my BBB complaint they offered to settle the matter by terminating the unused portion of the two wellness plans and reimbursing me $32 for one of the medications. The doctor then explained that she was not authorized to refund anything beyond that amount which prompted me to write this review.

They charged me $61 to cancel my plan after only going to Banfield once. I had to put my puppy down and they were not sympathetic.. they only wanted my money. I do not recommend this vet.
