One star because the people are friendly, but friendly people doesn't fix my credit.  I have been complaining to Bank of the West since 2011 about their lack of support for payments to people who only have loans and not a bank account with them.  While they do have an "online" and "phone" system in place, they don't always work and you won't always find out until they have taken you to collections.  I take my credit very seriously and the only negative hits I have on my credit are from Bank of The West.  Why?  Their system is behind the times.  Sorry I don't have an bank account with your bank, you're still making a percentage off of me from my auto loan and should make it easier for loan accounts to log on and make a payment with the confidence it isn't going to fail.  I travel frequently with work and am not always able to physically go to a bank of the west location.  The next time I purchase a car and they suggest a loan through Bank of The West, I will decline without hesitation.
