A MUST stop! Amazingly, well maintained complete 18-building settlement with livestock and self-touring historic references along the way. Country stores and museum included. Active place that offers a wide variety of classes in settlement life artisan-work along with many fun events.

Big fun. There is always something good going on here. Live music, or farm swap or cracker day. Good stuff happening.

I wish I had gone on a warmer and more seasonable day. However, the place was very cool. Gave some very interesting insight into the daily life of the early pioneers. Great for a class trip or just general history buffs. Kind of made me feel like i was walking through Little House on the Prairie. The only thing i didn't like was that it was entirely self guided. I would have liked to have seen some onsite staff/guides talking about the places we went into. But again, I think I went in the off season.

Interesting preservation of Florida historic buildings and skills. When we attended on Saturday morning, no concessions available so bring bottled water. Blacksmithing demonstration in blacksmith shop and music lessons and performance in old school house.

Always fun and educational, this place is perfect for getting an idea of not only how early settlers lived, but a piece of Florida history. I strongly encourage you to take one of their educational tours.
