One night I went they charge for cover when they were ending in half an hour which in my opinion is rediculous. The bar itself is good and the atmosphere is decent with it's neon lighting. Making it a good mood for the night but the music was a miss a lot of the time but a hit once and awhile.

The house made Rum Chata-esque drink is incredible. So good that I drink a lot of it and cannot remember the name. Also, if it’s the same owner I remember dude is OBSESSED with Connect Four and if you can beat him drinks are free. Spoiler alert: he hardly has to provide free drinks.

Bardot is my favorite place to hangout! the atmosphere is great, drinks are delicious, and the staff always has a positive vibe. Also, I never wait longer than a few minutes for a drink which is awesome compared to the other bars like Spoco where the wait is over 20 minutes.  If you haven't checked out this place recently, you definitely should! It's always a great time Friday and Saturday nights!

Went for a karaoke night but it was of course difficult to hear my friends. The bartenders were nice and very patient. Wish the karaoke was more organized somehow. Seemed all over the place at times. I've only been there once though.

We held a semi-private event at the Bardot establishment last week, and had an amazing experience.  Reserving the tables for our event was easy process, and choosing the appetizers for our guests was also smooth because the owner really helped us figure out what would work best for our guests. He was right, we had zero complaints. Honestly, everyone loved the food, especially the bacon covered dates!  Drinks were delicious and beautifully crafted. Great for snapchat ;  The atmosphere of Bardot, is very versatile and unique. I've been there before on the weekends for a drink, and it is nothing like anything else downtown in Iowa City. The floors never sticky, the music is always on point, it's clean, and I don't run into any underage "hooligans." It's a great time for me and my colleagues, and I'm happy to report that after my special event I will always recommend Bardot for a good, classy, tasty time!

Best place downtown for drink specials - any night! Staff and owner make sure you feel welcome every time you're there. Love to grab a bite to eat here on the weeknights, too! Fav spot for my friends and I every weekend to start and end our night.

Long story short I met one of the owners and that's what brought me here last night. After working a second shift I came in with a buddy he had to go and I stayed till one. Played it solo stayed out of trouble, had 2 drinks they were good, regular priced mojito and some summer vodka concoction.  I forget the bartenders name but the gal checked on me regularly, not too frequently, just right.  I really liked the atmosphere of the building itself, but also of the people that came in, not too crazy, but just a touch. It's inevitable you know. They haver a pool table ! :  I recommend checking the place out

Unfortunately, the wait staff gets to deal with the non sense and poor management of this establishment. The beer...on draft is always flat. On multiple occasions have had to "try" out several different beers on tap to "find" the least warm or flat beer. The owner/manager seems to be only there to try to acquire female companions and does not care about the actual business. If this wasn't the case the beerswould not be flat and the staff wouldn't be stuck with the burden of dealing with re-pouring 2-3 beers to take care of customers. Its sad because this could be a very fun place if the people in charge had any clue on how to run a bar. Sorry its just the truth.

The food and drinks here are phenomenal. By far my favorite bar in Iowa City! All the bartenders and staff are super friendly, and accommodating. Great place to spend any night of the week!

The bar design is extremely unique for Iowa City. I loved that the drink menu not only focused on the old school drink pallet they also bring some Maimi flavor to the menu as well. That said, you can't complain about a bar in Iowa City where the owner will play a game of Janga or shoot some pool with his customers!
