We assist in the educational identification of students and provide staff with educational and behavior strategies for children with autism.
The AIT is made up of a variety of professional staff from Barton County Special Services. The team is designed to assist staff with educational and behavior strategies to improve the educational setting for children with autism. Such consultative services can be provided through observations, behavior checklists, and interviews with teachers and parents, etc. A referral can be made by general education teachers, special education teachers, parents, administrators and other professional staff.
Our mission is to educate and prepare all students, based on their individualized needs, to become responsible citizens and lifelong learners. We also strive to educate and inform school districts and families to advocate for the student’s cognitive, social/emotional, communication, sensory and behavioral needs.
