Bastendorff is a beautiful beach on which dogs are allowed to be off-leash.  There is a lovely cove at the south end of the beach that is accessible during low tide.  There is ample free parking, and public restrooms available at one of the parking areas, about midway of the beach.  The lighthouse is viewable, and one is frequently able to watch large ships being escorted into or out of the bay.  It is one of my favorite walking spots.

Beautiful park. Sites are woodsy and spacious. Gorgeous view of the ocean but not a good trail to get down to the beach. Very kid friendly. We'll kept. Showers are warm.

This is an OK place to camp. Some of the spots are small and not good (10, 11, 12, etc). Some of the spots are really good though. The fire pits are a terrible V shape, dig a pit and make your own. The beach area is really big and mellow. It's directly across the street.

Probably the most spectacular beach camping places I've been on the Oregon coast....free camping fires right on the beach...great place for meditation

It was nice that almost all of the sites around us (all backin) had some trees and vegetation separating us.   We were able to leave almost all our window shades up without worrying about anyone looking in.    The walk to the beach overlook for sunsets is not far.
