I like this place. It is a Santa Monica neighborhood staple and a lot of people argue it’s the best sandwich you can get in Southern California. Personally I haven’t tried their sandwiches but I get a meatball sub or lasagna from time to time and it’s very good. It is a real Italian food shop and they have a great selection of wine and bread. Only downfall to this place and the reason I don’t come back is because their hours are absolutely horrible. It seems every time I plan to go they are closed.

Love their turkey sandwich with works (includes peppers etc). They also have a lot of hot sandwiches and soups. This place oozes of nostalgia of old school delis

Been  a customer for 39 years.  Fresh baked warm Italian bread daily and much more. Fresh pasta when you need it. Great cold cuts. Fills all your needs when making  an Italian

So delicious! Absolutely worth the wait. Not to mention all the other goodies this market has to offer. Just fantastic!

I hate crowds and this place is the epitome of why. The service is as average as my 3 star rating and it's not a very neat place to be. Although they do carry a bit of everything you'd need. The checkout service is an archaic clown show. MAKE SURE YOU BRING CASH! A card of any kind will get you killed here.

When it comes to the prepared food I'll give a solid B+. I never had a bad meal not even close to it. It's the simplicity and great proportions that make this place a crowded mess. So in all fairness the service and crowded'ness is rightfully justified.  Now if only they can hire some cleaning staff to make sure the tables are wiped down and the trashcans emptied.  👍.
