Room was really cool - like a studio apartment. When I heard we were getting a Murphy bed I was initially hesitant but it was super comfortable and easy to set up. We wanted to stay longer.

These are views of Little Traverse Bay from our room's balcony. Very nice rooms. We had a 4th floor suite. Full kitchen, fireplace, washer/dryer. Like an apartment. Nice

Good: the room was well appointed and it was quiet. Bad: Where to start? We were given the run-around while trying to book the room for a cousin's wedding. And when then, after getting the reservation in writing, it was still screwed up. It took weeks (literal weeks) to get the correct booking. We had booked both rooms of a suite. We were only told of the one room on arrival, so we made it work (weird layout, it could have been mistaken for a suite, and we were really tired). It wasn't until we get back from a late night family thing that we started looking around. My room key had stopped working on "our" door, but somehow worked on the next one over. Open that one, empty beer cans everywhere, toothpaste in the bathroom, unkept bed, etc. It looked like I walked into someone else's room. We walk down to the front desk only to find out that it IS our second room. Housekeeping not only didn't open the joining door, but didn't even clean the second room! And we didn't even find out until my room key started acting funny.... They didn't have a spare suite and didn't have any housekeeping staff on, so we made it work in the one room for the first night. Housekeeping would take care of it "first thing in the morning", which turned out to be around 11am. We got the second room refunded for the first night (or so they say, it's not been long enough to see the charge on my credit card yet). Also, no continental breakfast. That wouldn't have been a problem if the breakfast place across the street was any good... Additionally, the wifi was useless. If I had needed to work from my laptop, I would have needed to hotspot my phone to get anything done. I could barely get the New York Times homepage to load... Overall, I was unimpressed with my stay here. I won't be staying here again without some major organizational rework. And that's the thing. The facility is fantastic. The location is amazing. It's the people that are sinking this place. No one seems to care.

I booked this venue almost a year out from our wedding and it was a TERRIBLE experience. I went through 5 wedding coordinators and each time someone new came aboard, it was up to me to contact them and explain my wedding plans and expectations. It was absolutely the worst addition to the current stress already including in the wedding planning process. Finally we landed on the fifth coordinator, Melina, and my wedding was her first wedding to head up ever. I am not exaggerating, she almost ruined our wedding day. My entire bridal party did her job because she told me it wasn't her job to be involved the day of the wedding. The ceremony began at 3:00 and she didn't arrive to the venue until about 1:30. Because of her lack of care and awareness of her job obligations, I wasn't able to get ready with my best friends and have the "fun getting ready it's my wedding day" morning. Instead they were putting out several fires. Tables didn't fit inside the tent we were told to order, not enough chairs were delivered, no seat covers for the chairs, other vendors were late, people didn't have any direction, etc. It was an absolute mess! If it wasn't for my amazing friends sacrificing our "wedding morning" together, Bay Harbor would have ruined my wedding day. Now, I'm not an angry person who enjoys to write nasty reviews, I am NEVER that person. But people need to know, if they want the wedding of their dreams…bay harbor village hotel is not the place for that. I HIGHLY recommend you look elsewhere. The view is gorgeous, but it was literally constant stress. Also, almost ALL of our guests trying to book with this hotel received a terrible run around and I had to mediate the booking of the rooms (on top of all the other wedding stress happening). This venue WILL not reach your simple expectations of a normal wedding experience. The reason I am writing this is so brides don't experience the disappointment and expectations shattered for your one and only special day that I encountered.
