Bay State Veterinary Emergency Services is a state-of-the-art facility providing emergency care for pets, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Story

The hospital is staffed by experienced emergency clinicians and veterinary technicians. All of our doctors have completed at least one year of internship training after completing veterinary school. They also have constant access to the specialists at our sister hospital, Ocean State Veterinary Specialists, allowing them the ability to offer the best information and care available. Consultations with board-certified specialists in surgery and internal medicine are available by appointment.

The hospital is dedicated to providing the highest level of veterinary care to our patients in an atmosphere of compassion and excellence.

Horrible!!! Brought my cat in last night because he wasn't urinating... They told me his urine had crystals and sent me home with meds... Eight hours later my cat could barely move... I called the next morning and spoke to the rudest doctor who was only concerned about getting money from me and not my animal... Absolutely no help or resources for financial assistance and not caring or compassionate at all. I will never bring any of my animals back! I brought Whiskers to a different hospital today and he was admitted and given a catheter right away no questions asked. This is a life threatening issue and Bay State could have cared less!!

So incredibly disrespectful-- regardless of it being a holiday weekend. Had an initial assessment by a tech, tech asked if we wanted to talk with the doctor about next steps. After a 2 1/2 hour wait and absolutely zero communication with us at all, I approached the desk. The employee seemed genuinely confused why we would be frustrated that the place was virtually empty and not receive better service. "It's a holiday weekend, there's one doctor on and there's stuff going on in the back." (Great customer relations effort!) Ended up walking out, beyond irritated. The only reason I'd give one star is for cleanliness and the cordial nature of other frustrated clients. Would never recommend to family or friends.

Every single employee was very respectful, soft-spoken, and well-informed, besides one. We had brought our cat in after he went through a stroke and the first nurse to come and take him suggested we go elsewhere and left to get someone else because we were insistent on getting him treated first only because he was very verbally crying in pain, and answering questions later. Another told us we were overreacting a little when we'd asked for that employees name while we were hysterical over having to put our animal down that night. I understand money matters, but even if we didn't have the money at that time, I would've gladly sold half my belongings to pay the bills if it meant easing his pain.

My healthy 6 month puppy just died here !!! Brought in my 6 month old Shih Tzu for a ‘surgical consult’ for a common surgery and in the 15 minutes I was there they took him in back and he died !! I was told “cardiac arrest” ?    He was just seen at my regular Vet 4 DAYS EARLIER and I was told by my Vet he was a “very healthy puppy” !!   ... this place did something wrong, I’ll never ever know the truth nor be able to prove what really happened.   I’m sick over this. 
Do NOT go here !!! .... he was in the “care” of one of their Vets & vet tech.

I brought my dog in who has kidney failure and they were able to calmly provide us with the accurate information to give us the knowledge of what we needed to do to help him. I can’t say enough about how amazing the vet was to him.
