This hiking area is about as basic as it gets. There is no potable water so bring your own. There is one basic toilet that is a 2.5 mile hike in on the white trail. You will be alone here. Watch for dear and bears. The red trail takes you out to the river.

Camped overnight at the non waterside camp site. Even for summer the bugs were not bad. Campsite have a table and a fire ring. The trails are not very rugger, they are open and more like forest roads.  Saw plenty of deer.  Overall I had a great experience and will return.

A beautiful and well-maintained area for biking, hiking, camping, and horseback riding. The trails seem almost endless, weaving through over 10,000 acres, all very easy to follow by white, red, yellow, and blue markers. The paths are mostly well-cleared so there isn't as much trouble from biting insects as some other trails. The scenery changes dramatically based on elevation and distance from the river, with plenty of opportunities for birding and spotting other wildlife.

Grew up hiking to the river and back.  Nice 4 mile stroll. Always good to be back
