I've been waiting two months for corporate to get back with me and return my money. I want my money back. Someone name Chad or Chase from the Corporate Office contacted me over social media. I have seen other post from clients who have stayed at Baymont on Pierson Rd in Flint and had the same problem on the third floor. I stayed on the second floor. Please respond asap. Horrible conditions...

Baymont Inn, Flint is an older building. There are some repairs needed to bring it up to its full potential, such as replacing some of the door locks and broken heater grids, removing the deep scuffing from doors and refinishing those doors… but the manager, Eli Najjar, and his staff need no improvement! We reserved a barrier-free room for my husband, my service dog, my wheelchair and myself. The room was lovely and was, indeed, barrier-free; mirror and sink at good height for both my ambulatory husband and myself in a wheelchair, room to maneuver the wheelchair, roll-in shower and plenty of room for wheelchair maneuverability and transfer from chair to toilet (you'd be surprised how many places we've been in which the "handicapped" facilities didn't, in fact, meet the criteria I just mentioned). Sadly, although the hotel's policy (and Michigan law) prohibit smoking on the premises, someone had been smoking in this room, so we didn't get to actually stay in the room, as I'm deeply allergic to tobacco and asthmatic as well. The young woman on duty at the desk apologized sincerely (for something which wasn't her fault, I might add -- I seriously doubt she ran down to the room and grabbed a quick smoke) and immediately transferred us to another room, not barrier-free, as there were no more available, but smoke-free, which was necessary at that point. Even in the standard, as opposed to ADA room, the sink and mirror were perfectly usable by both my husband and myself and while I needed to be creative in the toilet area in order to shower and to use the facility, I am able to do that as I do have some function in my legs. I explain this so that others in wheelchairs, etc can make their own assessments of what's possible in these rooms. The bed and pillows are firm, but comfortable. It was quiet in our room. The refrigerator is newer and more than adequate, even having a small freezer in it. We didn't use the microwave, but there is one in the room and it was clean (as was everything else in the room) and conveniently placed on top of the refrigerator. The coffee-maker and blow dryer are both clean and functional (and appreciated). Both caffeinated and decaf coffee pods were provided, as well as tea. The breakfast bar is almost exclusively carbohydrates: cereal, premade waffles, bagels, etc. If you're like me and need to limit your carb intake there are hard-boiled eggs and they do have half and half for the coffee. Otherwise, there are several restaurants clustered very closely to the hotel which offer a wider variety of choices. At every point the staff was friendly, eager to serve, respectful of me and my service dog: offering help when it looked like it might be needed but never smothering, attentive but not hovering, respecting the dog's space to do his work and open to having him there (if you have a SD, I think you understand my point/if not perhaps you can indulge me and simply skip over this part). If I could I'd rate the premises and the staff separately, with building and grounds getting about three and a half stars and staff easily coming in at five! Anything that the staff can do is excellent, everything is clean and all maintainance that is a matter of manager discretion is up to date and well done. Corporate needs to give some attention to thing like the door locks and, perhaps, security cameras to eliminate smoking and carousing (as evidenced by the type of litter) in the parking lot and by the outside doors. However, as I've said, the manager and the staff are five-star! Thank you for understanding what hospitality means and striving to give it!

The sign for room 420 was stolen and replaced with a sign for 425. No smoking sign also missing from this door. Mildew smell is soon forgotten. WiFi connection is no good for online gaming. Pool area is pretty smelly. I hope the breakfast is good.

We have stayed here in past and always were pleased with the room and service but after this last visit we will be staying elsewhere. The room was clean but it had older damaged furniture. When we arrived at 3:30am we learned that the front desk checked another party in under our reservation. We could not connect to the internet. So all that said we will be staying elsewhere next time we need a room in that area.

Not bad, not great. Facilities were clean and comfortable but maybe a bit dated. Staff was pleasant enough. Breakfast was rather spartan but adequate for a quick morning breeze-through... At least there's a Tim Hortons, Bob Evans, and Cracker Barrel within throwing distance. We did enjoy the hot tub! Both the wife and I felt like a good deal of the rooms are being lived in by semi-permanent residents, which may explain some of the noise complaints in previous reviews. Highway noise was present but not overwhelming in the closest room to it (and I'm a light sleeper) and I just left the heater fan running to drown it out. Overall, decent hotel for the traveller on a budget.
