This won't be like other bike shops in the area. Sean (owner) really knows how to play to his strengths. He built my wheel set (road bike). It transformed the bike. The price came in very reasonably and his turnaround time was significantly faster than I had grown used to at other shops.

Highlights:
- primarily a service shop, light on retail. Sean knows his stuff, so he can guide you. But don't expect a pushy hard-sell. 
- just walk in, go to the back, introduce yourself (not a bunch of sales associates running around)
- patient, non-pretentious attitude toward newcomers and veterans alike, even though Sean has a deep understanding of bikes
- honest assessment of what you need and often just as importantly, what you *don't* need
- fair rates for services 
- having trouble with saddles like I was? Just sign out one of his demo models (or 4 like I did) and go on a real ride with it

What I Don't Like:

Called for an issue on my daughters bike and the owner fixed the flat and checked it over while we waited.  Amazing service.  Not going to find that kind of service on Amazon.

I called and they didn't call me back so I cut my feet off in anger.

To the dude who gave one star:  Ever work retail?  Come in morning, get messages, call back after listening to each message.  Get  called to the sales floor, finally get back to phone, "Who the freak erased the messaged? Oh, I hit the wrong button on my way to the sales floor."  or ten billion other mishaps that retail holds for the bold.
Bad work, attitude, rip off upgrade on tune up, etc etc.
No call back?!  ROFL

Bean's is the best bike shop in the area.  Sean is very knowledgeable and down to earth.  Refreshing to not have to put up with a bike snob to get great service.
