Beatrice Fire & Rescue provides fire protection for the City of Beatrice and county-wide advanced life support ambulance service for most of Gage County.
Beatrice Fire & Rescue is a full-time fire and advanced life-support ambulance service. We have a total of 21 line firefighters. They work 24 hour shifts with three shifts. Each shift consists of a Captain, and six firefighters. Administratively we have a chief and deputy chief. All BFR personnel are Paramedics or EMTs.
We operate out of one fire/EMS station in downtown Beatrice where we house five ALS ambulances, two pumpers, a 100’ platform ladder truck, a rescue truck, Haz-Mat response vehicle, Haz-Mat trailer, and an air-supply trailer. We also house Beatrice Rural Fire Departments pumper, tanker, and mini-pumper.
Besides providing fire protection, fire prevention, public education and a county-wide advanced life support service, we are a regional Haz-Mat response team deployable anywhere in the state of Nebraska.
The City of Beatrice Fire Department's mission is to provide the highest level of emergency and non-emergency public safety services through the extension of fire prevention, fire control, rescue, emergency medical services and public fire education, and to protect life and property in an efficient and cost effective manner for the Beatrice Community.
