I’m pretty disappointed with Beckley Water Co. I work for a small local business in Beckley. Our water bill is never more than $25/month and our usage has been consistent for years. They came to read the meter yesterday and told me we’re at 135,000 gallons (which is insane by the way), and the meter was spinning out of control. That would be like filling up two industrial pools. I expected to find a terrible leak, like pipe explosion in our building somewhere. I had my facilities guy check everything, literally expecting to find an explosion of a leak. We found nothing. No running toilet, sink, hose, no broken pipes. We turned the water off at the meter, cut it back on and suddenly it works fine. We feel that this is a faulty meter. How does it spin out of control, you cut it off and then back on and it’s suddenly fine? Also as it was spinning out of control, we could hear no water running through the pipe. This company refuses to replace it and says mechanical meters can’t be faulty. Seriously. We’ve used this company for years, have always used at the most a few 100 gallons a month.  Our last bill was $17.12.   Instead of looking at our record and replacing the meter they are charging us over $800 for water we did not use. Won’t budge at all. I don’t trust companies like this, and hate that we are forced to use them because they are the only water supply option. We’re a small health care practice, we did not use 135,000 gallons and we checked everything. We also don’t have that kind of money just to toss to the wind. It’s just not right. Don’t go with these guys, find another way. They don’t take care of loyal customers.  I'm highly concerned about what happens if the meter does this again and they refuse to replace it.  We’re highly disappointed.

Our water is shut off here more frequently than any other location I've ever lived in. We've averaged our water being off at least once a month since we have lived here. A google review doesn't really do any good since there aren't any other options as far as water service goes. It's just extremely frustrating. I wake up in the morning needing to get ready, and there is no water. 😡😡😡
