Beit Ahavah ~ The Reform Synagogue of Greater Northampton

About

We welcome you to become part of our warm and welcoming Reform community and Grow with Us ~ Nourish a personal and joyous connection to Judaism!

Story

Beit Ahavah is a vibrant community of people from diverse spiritual backgrounds and religious experiences, celebrating in times of joy, offering support in times of need, and growing from the open exchange of ideas, study of Torah and Jewish expression. We offer musically uplifting Shabbat and holiday worship services, a vibrant Community School program, engaging committee work, year-round opportunities for adult engagement, and much more!

Rabbi Riqi Kosovske brings her passion, extensive experience, knowledge and commitment to building inclusive Jewish community, ritual, teaching, Israel, the arts, feminism, ecology and writing to her role as our Spiritual Leader and Jewish Educator. Rabbi Riqi has served our congregation since her ordination in 2007 from the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in Los Angeles. She enriches our congregation with her vision, warmth and creativity.

Being part of Beit Ahavah as a member or "chaver"/"chaverah" of Beit Ahavah means giving yourself the gift of holiday celebrations, Shabbat services, Jewish education, connection with our Rabbi for the milestones in your life, and a strong sense of community. It means extensive opportunities for community service and Tikkun Olam (repairing the world), and spiritual and intellectual engagement. When you join Beit Ahavah, you help sustain your community, and help guarantee that Northampton’s Reform synagogue will be here for years to come!

Beit Ahavah is an enriching spiritual environment, where members are involved in all aspects of community life, from leadership to ritual practice. Our Shabbat, Tot Shabbat, and holiday services are infused with music and the exploration of Jewish ideas. Our Beit Ahavah Community School aims to instill a love of Judaism through a creative and innovative approach to Jewish learning.

Beit Ahavah deeply values our identity as a progressive and inclusive Jewish community. We welcome and embrace members from all generations, backgrounds, and expressions of Jewish engagement, including those in interfaith relationships and GLBTQ members. Join us!
