I needed to take my dog to the vet on very short notice due to an illness. I looked through all of the reviews on Google for most of the animal hospitals / vets in the Rockford area. From what I read I thought Bellwood would be a good choice. My thoughts were immediately confirmed. Everyone from the staff on the phone making the appointment to the Vet, Ms. Dr. Lind were awesome! I don't usually write reviews like this, but I was very impressed. Just made the appointment there for my dogs yearly checkup / vaccinations / routine grooming. So glad we found a good Veterinarian :)

We love Dr. Spoo and Dr. Grove. My dogs have always been in good care under their guidance.

You know, I fairly trusted this place. My small town refuse to take my rats at any vet because they're "disgusting and diseased creatures" before even meeting them. So I trusted Bellwood, friendly staff, nice vet. I took my rats in a week ago, my two boys. Vet told me they were perfectly fine and healthy. My rat died from sickness two days ago. My rat is mourning. I am mourning. Not a lot can be done, but I am angry with the dishonesty. Never going back.

Amber was accidentally poisoned when she found and chewed on an asthma inhaler and it exploded in her mouth. Thank goodness Bellwood has convenient hours and was open to help. They were fantastic. Amber's condition was so grave she was beyond the medical attention Bellwood could provide. They called the emergency clinic and ASPCA poison control for instruction. Bellwood stabilized Amber so she could be safely transported for further treatment. Amber spent the next 2 days in treatment. She fully recovered and is in perfect health today thanks to the quick action, expertise and care given by the staff at Bellwood.

I cannot recommend Bellwood more. I'm the mother of very high maintenance corgi which a chronic hormone condition - plus a knack for getting into trouble. He's my best friend and I'd never settle for less than the best in a vet. The receptionists are friendly, it's easy to get an appointment when you need one, and the entire place is clean. I've also been in "the back" a few times and everything is clean, organized, and professional - exactly how it should be. The techs are friendly but don't waste your time, and the vets are amazing. I always ask lots of questions, and when he's been hospitalized I've called multiple times a day to check on him - they've always been more than happy to help. I'm positive that my pup wouldn't be alive today if not for Dr. Laura. Very smart but explains it in layman terms, good listener, very caring - and comforts the patient and the human. She stuck by my pup and wasn't afraid to reach out to specialists when appropriate. If you're looking for the best - look no further. Even after moving the Byron, I continue to make the drive - no one else is good enough for my boy!
