What a wonderful experience! Met I think were the owners nice lady with a cane and her husband who went to flight school in Texas. She was adorable and made us feel very welcome.  Our server suggested great food choices and the food kept on coming! I think we had like 10 dishes come out family style.  The service was great and the food was yummy! They really made the night special as we were visiting from Dallas. I definitely would go back next time I'm in jersey!

First, I have to tell you, if you didn't know any better you'd walk right past it and not even know it is a pretty good Italian restaurant. The food quality is better than what you would expect from looking at it. And actually the value of the meal is even better, portions are enormous. You can easily split one dish between two people for dinner. I found the pasta and marinara sauce to be top quality and coming from an Italian family I like to think I know what I'm talking about   Features: Dining is indoors at tables only, and fairly close proximity. Eating at the bar is not permitted and there is definitely no outdoor seating!

Great place, Chicken Savoy, and a great bowl of beeps! The ambiance was super retro, it was like '70 or early '80. The food is good, the service is actually expedited, great and the food makes it up. One of the must visit places. Oh by the way, they do not take cards. Carry cash or Venmo.

Chicken savoy & the chicken murphy were absolutely amazing! Every bite is filled with flavor! First and definitely not the last time at the Belmont Tavern.  They are cash only, so hit up the ATM and treat yourself to a delicious dinner.

I cannot even begin to describe how delicious my meal was. I ordered the shrimp beeps over pasta and I have been thinking about it every night since I ate it! They are cash only and do not take reservations but I promise you they are worth the wait. My friend and I waited about 20 minutes before we were sat at our table but they have a bar where you can sit and relax. 10/10 experience

Great food at this classic tavern. Known for the chicken savoy. Mostly regulars come here it seems but heard so  much about this place, I had to try it. We'll worth the trip. Cash only, no reservations a real throw back. Excellent ambianceFood: 5/5

I get the nostalgic look…or they’re just too cheap to renovate. Food is ok at best. Waitress was rude as to pick up my purse I had placed it on the corner of table next to ours and stick it between my back and the chair…and I just went along. I should’ve said something! Number one, don’t touch someone else’s things; just ask me to move it. Just plain rude! Ugh. No desire to go back. Tacky. Too many good places to eat to put up with rudeness. Get a clue!

Fast paced, family run businesses. Classic atmosphere, no frills eatery. Friendly wait staff who made you feel welcomed. Shrimp beeps were excellent as the chicken savoy. Def a place to visit.  Kid-friendliness: Awesome wait staff  Parking: Parking in a city neighborhood hood was tuff

The best! Best food, Chicken Savoy, Shrimp Beeps, and the Spaghetti with Garlic and Oil are to die for. With a carafe of house wine, and you got the makings to a perfect night. Service is spot on, couldn't ask for better. As always, we'll be back.
