You really need to make a reservation, especially during the weekend. The peoplecat the front are pretty rude and love rolling thier eyes I noticed on my hour wait. Once they are no longer involved, it's a great experience. The food is amazing even though my steak was well done and I asked for medium it was still amazing. The chef was involved and funny. So don't let reception ruin your night just try to get a reservation if possible Kid-friendliness: Kids are entertained with the chef however if you have delicate children who don't like noise or scare easily might be better to have them on your lap
We love it...but since we come like need check the air fan extractor...and of course ...put some more illumination and color to the exterior cause my first-time visit with people out of the state than they don't k own the area it was difficult find it...so from the bottom from our hearts guys ...could you please help us out with this...blessings and see you soon.
I had my birthday dinner here. We had a reservation but couldn't be seated until everyone was present. It was very crowded on a Saturday evening. For two people with no alcoholic beverages, be prepared to spend $100. The staff was nice and attentive. The show was okay, but nothing you haven't seen before. The kids love it!! On your birthday they give you a free ice cream dessert and a picture.
It is imperative that you make a reservation, particularly on the weekends. During my hour-long wait, I saw that the people at the front are quite obnoxious and enjoy rolling their eyes. When they step aside, it's a wonderful experience. Even though I ordered medium-rare and my steak was well done, the food is still delicious. The chef was hilarious and involved. Thus, try to make a reservation if you can to avoid having reception ruin your evening.
The food was very good and the best part of the experience is that the food is served hot, except for the soup, which was served warm. However, the air conditioning at our table was severely chill and we had to wear sweaters and jackets, which diminished the enjoyment of the night. The prices are too high to be concerned about staying warm.
Reason for visiting: early Father's day dinner Date/time of visit: Saturday, ~7:30 PM Parking: valet, $6.50; free if you can find street parking Party size: 6, including 2 kids Environment/ambience: pretty busy and loud. Recommendations are recommended; not sure if they take walk-ins. Not many TVs around; Bathroom was clean. Service: chef was pretty cool.. got the "pumping heart" show with the fried rice and the "choo choo" train thingamajig with the onions Staff was friendly and came around often. Food: I went with the deluxe treat, filet and lobster tail with fried rice extra egg. Also had the Benihana punch. Steak was cooked medium and fried rice was good. there was so much that I had lunch the next day too Miso soup was good too. Cost: $540 with tip. Kid-friendliness: kids of all ages were comfortable here
Wow, an expensive, not-fun, way too dragged-out night out with a friend. First-off, the valet is $7. I'm telling you because no one told us and I didn't see a sign anywhere. I hate to pay for parking, but there's really nowhere else to park on Ventura. We had a reservation, but still waited as long as if we'd just shown up when we did and been parked in line with others. So that took forever. Then we were seated, and proceeded to wait over 20 minutes before a server even asked us what we wanted to drink. Sooo close to walking out, and really wish we had, now. Then we ordered and that was wrong. Then the chef FINALLY came out and made the food, and I think what he had with him to make our order was wrong. Chef was fine, though not super fun, and basically ignored our side of the table. He seemed to prefer "his own" people, and I'll leave it at that. There's certainly not a lot of food, either. You barely get almost a plateful of semi-decent for around $50. I guess you pay for the experience. There are a LOT of birthdays in the place in one night, so you hear that birthday chant/song all night, but with so little enthusiasm it's painful. It just feels like NO ONE who works there wants to be there. Which is a nice welcoming feeling for none of the customers. And all of the things they say come with your meal, do not come with your meal. We didn't receive a couple of things, but didn't care when it was time to go home THREE hours and a couple hundo bucks later. Anyway, we will def NOT be back to this one ever. Yikes.
Overall decently clean. Food was okay and portion sizes were good. Bar happy hour from 4-7 is a great place to start with drink and apps discounted. The ginger salad dressing was real watered down and lacking flavor. Service was good, but for the price food could be better. Also 6$ valet parking. Features: Cooks still wear masks.
This establishment is a landmark structure that has been here for years. The staff is efficient and professional. Food is better when you eat at the restaurant. You pay for the show and the friendliness of the chef. It’s a long standing tradition to go here for our birthdays. I almost always get Rocky’s Choice, and ‘yes’ I got it tonight. My hubby got the Splash n’ Meadow steak and colossal shrimp. Both are 6 course meals including soup, salad, rice, shrimp appetizer, veggies, ice cream or sherbet. Hot green tea is also complimentary See pics. 5 course meals don’t include the dessert. TIP: 1 Happy Hour is from 3-7pm at this location and only at the bar. You can get the Benihana award winning sake large for $5 normally $11. 2 Parking on street next to restaurant after 7pm is free or across the street before 7pm see the pic 3 Sign up on website for birthday coupon worth $30. Read the fine print.
It's always a bit too loud but you go for the show and the food. This has never been a romantic dinner place. The chefs entertain while they prepare your delicious meal and with the birthday discount you save $30 off the total bill, providing you order a 2nd entree. The food is always worth it and all the staff work hard to ensure you are entertained and fed well. Vegetarian options: You can get your food sans meat or fish and they prepare it fresh with a large variety of vegetables. They will even omit the egg from the fried rice if you ask. Dietary restrictions: If you request to add or subtract anything, they simply say sure. Parking: Valet only as far as I know. It's a separate company that owns the lot, but they offer door to door service with no hassle. Lunchtime $5. Dinnertime $7. Kid-friendliness: They have a kids' menu and activities with a chef's hat to make the kids feel special.
