I'm always for the police as they tried to do their best they can. Regarding the protest, I'm sure they were told to stand off until further notice by their chief. Blame the chief for their lack of duties during the protest riots in Berkeley. Recently, I got a violation ticket from Officer K. who said I did not stop at the stop sign (BS) and written up a ticket looking very angry. B/C a young boy named Zachary was killed by a driver who didn't see the kids crossing the street at the corner of DERBY & WARRING in Berkeley, CA. He made me feel Iike I ran the boy down because he said he takes it very personally. This officer wants to punish the hard working middle-class people who're driving to work by writing up tickets so that he can meet his quota for the month. I would suggest to him to focus on the real criminals or do some public awareness on driving accidents caused at stop signs, rather than punishing hard working people. I feel sorry for the family regarding Zachary's accident, but please don't blame me or the rest of the people who drive through this streets on a regular basis for something I/we did not do. For the sake of Zachary's life, please be sure to take 5 extra seconds longer to stop at this intersection, you'll never know when the officer will be hiding at this corner to give out more tickets. I would give the BPD 5 stars, but this officer "J" hating the world because of this incident, he deserves 0 stars. He makes you want to hate the cops even more!

Berkeley is a lot safer than Oakland, and its often hard to distinguish the effects of the police from the UC system. I'd give the UC system 80% credit for the safety in Berkeley. But the reality is much more complex than that. Based on my experience, Berkeley is creating a sexually abusive culture that breeds into Oakland and minority pockets well enough to keep other cultures down while silently bringing them up in English. In other words, theres a lot of legal work to be done around sexual abuse in Berkeley, and doing it isn't going to increase the rates homeless people get loitering charges. I remember playing Berkeley high in lacrosse in 2006, and some guy kept pinch groping our best attackman and the ref wouldn't call it. So our guy shoved him over a ground ball to the front, and the Berkeley bench cleared and our attackman, a minority, had his jaw broken by a cross check under the helment. We went 0-13 the next season, missing our best 3 players, and the Lacrosse team at HRS fell apart long term. I can't say I've used the Berkeley police a lot, but when I was exhausted and hungry in my mid 20s, 3 different Berkeley professors were very good at trying to sexually abuse me in other cities. Tenacious and well supplied off Berkeley turf. Tom Cohen, Billy Wolff, and Richard of the Gill Track. I remember reading a newspaper article on a UC Berkeley professor who had 14 different groping allegations, and he wasn't fired. Laney is the same way, but plenty of schools do move professors. I'm an anthropologist working on a book on global warming in Oakland, and there are plenty of mysterious shootings in Oakland that the police can't solve. Berkeley used to be a pacifist hub, but the reality is its too hard to feel safe realizing the Afghanis aren't really out to get us unless you are using the law decently instead of violence. Characters like Han Solo or the real HST were good at dealing drugs and using the law correctly but the modern archetypes most common in Berkeley in the 2010s are the pedophile whisper gropers chanting 'I love you' and the whip smart mental inbreds under them who can't live life without Kaiser Permanente drugs.

This is directed more toward the mayor and police chief. Do your damn job and protect the citizens from the ANTIFA thugs!! If I were there I sure the hell would! I know the uniformed officers are basically political slaves, but keep your oath.
