Story

We have years of experience caring for families, from all walks of life. Each family comes to us because they know we are leaders in our profession, dedicated to excellence in service, and have the highest integrity.

Our History

Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home is a family owned and operated business dedicated to caring for their friends and neighbors in southeastern Wisconsin. Dedicated to continuing the excellent level of care and compassion provided by the Berndt family founders, Greg Ledesma purchased the funeral home in 1999.

Greg brings extensive experience in the caring for the deceased and their loved ones through his work for some of the best funeral homes in southeastern Wisconsin since 1970. He has also served as deputy coroner, and earned Grief Facilitator Certification. Greg is currently a member of WFDA, Wisconsin Funeral Directors Association, and is serving on the board for the Schauer Arts Center, as well as, The United Way of Washington County. Past board member for the Hartford Food Pantry, Past President Hartford Rotary Club. With Greg's formal education in business administration and management, you know you are also getting the quality, excellence, and attention to detail that a true professional delivers. Great experience with this funeral home in Hartford! Can't say enough! We took out a funeral trust in 2015, and when my mother passed last week I contacted Greg Ledezma, who responded immediately. He guided us through the process, anticipated our needs and provided many unexpected little details, including putting my return address on the "Thank You" cards he provided. Our family used Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home in Hartford for my Mother's funeral services. Greg and his staff are so kind and professional.  He treats you like part of his family and I always felt like mother was getting the best care.

I was completely lost when my husband Tim passed away at a young age. And with 3 young children, it was difficult to figure out what all I needed to do to plan a funeral.  Greg and his team were so very helpful, compassionate, and understanding of my situation.  It was all explained and written out in detail what all needed to be taken care of.  If I had any questions, I called or emailed them and they responded quickly.  Thank you so much Berndt Ledesma for everything.

Berndt-Ledesma Funeral home was recommended to me by my neighbor after sudden death of husband.  So glad I went with the recommendation.  Greg and his partner were there for me from beginning to end and walked me through it step by step. Very professional and compassionate.

Greg Ledesma offered such great care and compassion to the family when we called.  I was not only impressed by their professionalism but also the way they made the funeral a celebration of life for Nancy.  Also the cost of their services were less than other options we found for a full funeral memorial service.  They also arranged a full luncheon right at the church after so there was no travel to the lunch.  The Family was beyond relieved and comforted in their time of need and mentioned it multiple times.  They were very thankful that they chose Berndt -Ledesma Funeral Home to care for their mom.  I would recommend them to anyone I know in the Hartford and lake country area..

I cannot express how much Love, care, and compassion I received from the funeral directors at Bernstein-Ledesma funeral home. I am so grateful my Pastor referred them to me. My husband’s death was so abrupt. I needed people I could trust and they came thru! They were also very patient and treated me with respect. The cost for their services were very reasonable. Praise God for them!
