Ultimently this guy is a glorified drug dealer. He will over prescribe and up the doses so high that getting off the medications he prescribes feels impossible and can leave a patient feeling hopeless. The minute you can't afford him he will cut you off! I sent my daughter to him over 8 years ago after the premature death of a loved one. She was confused, grief stricken and very confused. His immediate diagnosis of her was bi polar and at 22 years old he had her on multiple anti psychotics, high doses of benzodiazepine ect.. she was a mess! Many of her friends went to him too at that time in 2008 and all who had left his care said the same thing to both my daughter and I. Basically, " be careful because he will over prescribe and cut you off on a dime the minute you cant pay". However, on the good side, many testified to it being the best thing that ever happened to them and the idea of being set free of his meds and all spoke of living  a much fuller life. Now, I am here to speak the same truth. My daughters life today is a beautiful example of this. She is free of all drugs and a happy healthy mother. He had her on literally bags filled with a variety of pharmaceuticals and she was bouncing off the walls. She went bonkers under his care! A developing 21 year old woman does not need that many drugs~Ever!!! I would Not recommend him. We trusted him and he deeply betrayed that trust at the most vulnerable time of our lives. He took advantage of her pain and grief, and did nothing to facilitate the idea of true help and therapy. Treatment centers, pharmacists and even detox centers were shocked by his heavy meds prescribed and personally angry with him!! Her chemistry was so thrown off by all those anti psychotics and benzodiazepines he handed her like candy without learning about her better. He jumped at the opportunity to get her hooked on high doses of kolonapen from the start. I am here to say this above all else: Get a second opinion and don't trust another human with your mind or your children's mind. He is just another average human with mind that is limited to his own views. Do not fall into that pit of addiction on prescribed meds or believe he knows best. LISTEN TO YOUR OWN INTUITION!!! We have learned so much by this and I feel compelled to pass it on for what it is worth to someone out there who may need it. There is hope. 

Lastly. I want to mention My last conversation with jon was many years ago before we got her in a detox from his meds. When I called for the final time and asked him to please refill her meds to carry her through to her next appointment. He refused to do this until we came in and paid for the visit as we always had before in Cash. He than told me " She is unfixable" and "she would be this way for life". What a horrible thing to say to someone after years of taking my hard earned money I worked so hard for taking care of others as a C.N.A.on a very limited income.  What a monster to say such nonsense about his own patient who trusted him and also paid out of pocket when I did not have it to give to him. He was So wrong on every aspect! She, like the rest who warned us, got away from him and now lives a happy, healthy, well adjusted life. We get the shivers when we think where she would be today if we did not see the truth and walk away from him. Ugggg!

I have been a patient of Dr. Berner for a few yrs now,he is an amazing person that cares for his patients..I would recommend him to anyone i know that is needing a little help..I'm seeing him for my Anxiety due to pain i endured from an accident,he has helped me get through the toughest of times and continues to push me through the fight,i have a journey ahead of me still but i know i'm in good hands with Dr. Berner..Thank you Dr. and staff for all that you do,i appreciate you all so much,you helped me so much and i want everyone to know that!!
