seemed like an interesting place with lots of history and memories, but i was only there for about 5 or 10 minutes just to "check it out".  the weather was so beautiful today (18dec2015) and it was my first visit to buffalo bayou park which i also found interesting (mayor parker?).  after my short visit to this cemetery, i walked down to the bayou which looks up at the edge and fence of this cemetery. this view made me wonder about the early history of this cemetery and how it came to be located here -the edge of a bayou which, i assume, has seen its share of flooding.

It seems very strange to write a review for a cemetery.  Whether or not you are interested in the Jewish history of Houston, is irrelevant.   There are graves of Holocaust or Shoah survivors here.  When I was a child I remembered see the grave of a young Navy sailor who died during the attack on Pearl Harbor.  His headstone had an image of him and I believe the dates of his life and death were in "English" and Hebrew.  His headstone had a profound effect on me.  World War II was then and there, but also now and here.  If you are a respectful person who understands the special significance of a cemetery and you are interested in history I would suggest that this a place to visit.  Please remember that  this is a sacred space and it should not be abused.
