Story

Bethany is a Presbyterian Church located on the San Francisco peninsula, in San Bruno, California. We are a small, nurturing community of faith, blessed with excellent musicians and centered in the belief that God in Christ calls us to be family. As a More Light (welcoming and affirming of LGBT and all people) congregation we welcome you, just as you are: a dearly beloved child of God.

Through worship, prayer, study and fellowship, we discover God's presence and love for us in our lives. With grateful and humble hearts, we also seek ways to embody and live out God's love with the larger community through hands-on outreach and mission.

Come celebrate and worship with us - 10:00 on Sunday morning!

Directions: Bethany is nestled into the hills between highway 280 and the Crystal Springs Reservoir in San Bruno. From Highway 280 or 101, use San Bruno Avenue to get to Crestmoor Drive. Welcoming and inclusive Christian church, like a loving family.

My family and I have had nice, worshipful experiences at Bethany Presbyterian Church. They appear to be welcoming. I like that they are fully inclusive to all people, at least that's what it says in their literature. For an earlier experience, they didn't have have a projector and screen to show the service. They do now and we liked the projections, especially my kids. We plan to go back to Bethany. Oh, I think there is a Korean church that meets there too. I can't comment on them.

As a musician, I find Bethany's music program to be extraordinary. The music and worship grabbed me the very first time I attended. I am now pleased to say that I am a part of their music. I am in the Chancel Choir, Prayz Group, a men's quartet, and take part in other musical opportunities as they become available. Bethany hosts an Open Mike Night every quarter; this gives anyone in the community the opportunity to showcase their talents (music, stand-up, reading, acting, etc.) before a receptive and appreciative audience. Performers have presented everything from the silly to the sublime. It's a lot of fun.

This is a review for the Korean Mohk Yang church; specifically the Pastor's wife. You always hear "stories" about the Pastor's wife but this is reality... My friend hired the church Pastor's wife as a full-time Nanny. He thought given her status with the church, she would be a good person. Boy was he wrong. OMG... that lady is totally two-faced! My friend didn't want me to post anything bad about her but I've got a duty to warn people. I could not believe what he told me. The Nanny signed into a full time agreement with the couple and their little baby girl. I saw the contract and it couldn't be more clear. Here's one example of what this lady did ... After 3 months of working she refused to clean my friend's baby bottles that were used overnight. She said, "Since I'm not the one that used the bottle, I should not have to clean them." -- is that crazy or what?!?! Uhh the lady is their nanny. Baby stuff is her job. The reason why I'm posting this negative review is because what she and her husband (ie the Pastor) said next. They said that they wanted more money! That's totally extortion. They said they would keep working if the wife got paid more. I think after working with my friend for a few months, they could see that he is rich. They tried to take advantage of my friends. I saw this lady once at my friend's baby party where they invited the nanny and her family (husband plus three girls) to sit with their family at the head table. So obviously my friends treated them really well. My buddy is smart and said that if she wanted to break the contract, she could leave. He's a smart guy and knows when people are trying to trick him. So this is your warning church goers, be careful when trusting people - even a Pastor's Wife.
