The BBB cosed my complaint (#12412333) twice without any resolution. The first time they notified me I had not accepted/rejected the response from the business (Washington Gas) however they never told me the business sent a response to review. After reopening the complaint they closed it again because I rejected the business response. Washington Gas claimed they waived a return payment fee because they caused the problem with the bill. The fact is they waived the fee and then re-billed fee, all on the same statement. I made this clear and included the bill to show where I had clearly been re-billed. I also made it clear several times, including the original complaint, that I paid the fee and wanted it refunded. Upon submitting the proof to the business, via the BBB, that the business response was not factual the BBB promptly closed the complaint without any resolution. Thanks for nothing BBB - and no I still don't have a refund! So I took the BBB up on their offer to reopen the case. As instructed in their response to my original post I sent in my documents to the listed email address. Guess what? No reopened case that I can see and more importantly no refund. No wonder Washington Gas has such a high rating on the BBB site and the BBB has such a crappy one in their Google reviews.

Seemed a little rude. The BBB said they couldn't help with my complaint against the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) because no financial transaction took place. The BBB website states, however, that the BBB addresses service complaints that have to do with misrepresentation or violation of business policy. When I sent my same review to another BBB regarding this same AAD organization in its other location of operation, the other BBB states it can't process the complaint for completely different reasons. The other BBB gives such reasons as I'm requesting some sort of "disclosure of practices." (I don't know what BBB even means by that.) BBB also twice wrongly tells me that I’m filing a complaint with them against a doctor's office, which they don't handle, so I had to write back each time stating that no, this complaint was against the AAD. The Chicago BBB also says they can't act as my lawyer or cop. I did not expect them too. They say other nonsensical things, such as how I'm writing to them with a personal complaint, which they state they can't handle. But they also say that I’m writing this complaint on behalf of other people, so they can't deal with that, either. They say several other things that also don’t make sense, don’t apply. So, if the BBB can’t address the complaint and the AAD can’t respond to questions and concerns, where does the consumer turn? Other places are also not of help. In response to BBB's response below: I did try repeatedly contacting AAD and got no response, and I did already try filing this complaint with you, BBB. The examples you provide of what cases you don't handle, don't apply to my case. I was asking that you help the AAD organization uphold its promised principles to the public, which it obviously did not demonstrate.

This bbb got my problem with Comcast solved. It's kind of surprising but I'm glad it's done.

I was BILLED too much from California tax franchise recently ! My grand mom grew up in DC. I lived in Phila and now reside in Los Angeles. In my maiden name Jessica Macqueen, I was billed $558.14 from 2007. The original amount was $182 (plus a late fee and collection fee added and since 2007 increased to $558.14). I keep all my accounts in order and am not late on payments, however CA tax franchise (of Sacramento) hasn't sent me a receipt or let me know if this 2007 account is paid in full now. I didn't owe any taxes in 2007 because it was a year I didn't have employment. They are very hard to contact and you don't know if they plan to bill again. To reach them I tried phone & email without luck.
