Fair prices. Doesn't try to sell you shit you don't need. Great shop!

Professional quality service and advice for a no-frills neighborhood shop. I will return.

Excellent service at reasonable prices. Yes the guy who owns the place can come off as "grumpy" but he is just telling it like it is.

I've been going to The Bicycle Doctor for a decade. I'm here to tell you that Alex is the real deal. Sure, maybe he doesn't have the sunniest disposition, but he knows bikes better than any of the other bike shops around and he is completely honest and forthright, qualities I deeply appreciate. I sense from the other reviews that some people might prefer ignorance with a smile? As to costs, I've always found him to be utterly fair. Like if his prices ever seem high it is because he only stocks high quality parts. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money on the kevlar tires he has, they are absolutely worth it, and something most lesser shops will make you special order.

This place is the real deal. I'd ridden to work, picked up a slow leak, and was fully flat when I walked out, of course in a hurry to get somewhere on time. Didn't catch the guys name, but I presume he's the owner, and he had me back out the door in three minutes. $18.50 for tube and install, seems fair to me. Honestly I was more impressed with his demeanor. I've never seen a mechanic like this guy (car, motorcycle, bicycle etc.) I only talked with while he was ringing me up, but he's competent, kind, and interested in what he does. He didn't come off like an affected hipster who want you to think he's cool first, and knowledgeable second, and he didn't come off like a salesman wanting to push parts, and he didn't come off like a know-it-all. FWIW, I'm not a bike nut, and I don't understand why people exercise, so you might not find what you need in this shop if "bike culture" matters to you, or if you wear those funny jerseys (maybe he sells them, I didn't look). I'm only a practical seasonal commuter, but I'm serious about my bike as a tool. 15 miles round trip, rain or shine in the spring and fall, but deep winter and high summer are too much for me. And when I talked to this guy, I felt like there was an understanding. I know how silly that sounds, and I don't care. I liked this place a lot. As for reports of rudeness, I don't know. It's hard to take you guys seriously. Let's have a poll: sound off if you have worked at least one consecutive year of laboring at production, service or retail, *and* you think this guy was rude to you. Anyone? No?
