Story

OUR FOUNDER
Founder and CEO, Paul Gerrard, began studying plumbing in England in 1985. He completed a London Institute City and Guilds apprenticeship in plumbing and hydronic heating before moving to the United States in 1996. He has owned his own plumbing company since 2000.

We have a small one-story " mid-century-modern » house that sits on a concrete slab and is heated radiantly by hot water flowing in tubes buried in the concrete slab.. The 60+ year-old furnace that heated the flowing water had failed. We were recommended to Big Blue as the East-Bay experts on this kind of radiant heating. Their recommended and executed solution wasn’t cheap but we now have, instead of the old furnace and water heater tank that were stuffed into a tiny room in the middle of our house, a state-of-the-art Energy Star unit that heats our house and our hot water, and we feel that we’ve made new friends with the small crew of very competent and very friendly people from Big Blue who did the work.We recommend them enthusiastically

Big Blue did a great job on 3 different projects I had. They arrived on time, were professional and cleaned up at the end of the jobs. They solved a problem I had with my tankless water heater that others could not. I would recommend them.

Paul and West were very nice and personable and answered all of our questions about our water heater replacement. We discovered our 15 year old water heater leaking at 1 in the morning. They came in on short notice and seamlessly installed the new water heater after a short and professional in-home consultation. Everything was set up by noon. Great experience working with Paul, the owner!
